November 30th 2021 was our last meal at OCK. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you - our friends, supporters, volunteers and all who created and served OCK. Thank you for 10 incredible years. We look forward to the opportunities this will open in the future!

Dear Past and Present Volunteers, Friends and Supporters
of Our Community Kitchen,

For the last 10 years OCK has been dedicated to over-coming food insecurity, social isolation and hardship in the community by offering twice a week nutritious meals to anyone: Everyone was welcome- the impact- YOUR impact has been tremendous.

Our desire to honor the work of that small group of people who began OCK kept us running through the pandemic and dreaming of ways to grow and serve. Now, however we have had to face hard facts: our number of volunteers is extremely small; the cost of food and packaging is on the rise. Based on staffing and funding needs, we are without adequate long-term support.

As a result Our Community Kitchen Board has made the difficult decision to close down – it is with a heavy heart that our last meal will be served on Tuesday, November 30.

We wish to “Thank you” for all you have done to make OCK a success. We hope that the closing of our doors will open new and exciting ways for continued outreach and service within our community. Your time and talent were instrumental in our success over the years.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the very dedicated people who believed in this mission together to start this wonderful non-profit and we were privileged to be a part of this as volunteers.

Our Community Kitchen was the first to join the One World Everybody Eats movement in the upper midwest. This week it's National Everybody Eats Week. Watch this video to learn more, then join us this Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 to noon to pick up a lunch to go.

On Tuesday - Orzo and Veggie Salad and Gazpacho.
On Thursday - Chicken and strawberry salad (organic greens, with bacon, chevre and citrus vinaigrette) and borscht.

Our Mission of the Month for June is Our Community Kitchen! This outstanding program is in its 10 Year Anniversary.
Tuesday, several volunteers began work relocating some raised beds on the future Manwaring Plaza. Thanks especially to two of our Senior High youth who worked in the heat doing this dirty, sweaty work- and several others who are not pictured.
