Welcome! We are so glad you found our FB page, and we'd love to catch you up on what we've been up to.
We started in January of 2021, and members of our founding leadership team donated supplies and funding for our initial batch of Birthday Bags. Next, the amazing youth group at Sunnybrook Christian Church built lots and lots of bags over spring break and even helped collect supplies. We then partnered with Our Daily Bread Stillwater to distribute the bags to their guests. Next, First Baptist Church Stillwater generously donated a space for us to build the bags and store our donations. Finally, we have started to partner with organizations including Stillwater Early Head Start and Grand Lakes to distribute bags to their students and clients. This has been a true grassroots movement and labor of love over the past six months, and we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our community time after time.
Where does that leave us now? Our current goals include opening up a bank account so that we can accept monetary donations, applying for nonprofit status, and finding a way to organize all of the people interested in volunteering. We are also looking for organizations to host supply drives or to build complete Birthday Bags for us to distribute.
