This is an eternal truth: we will never find anyone who can ever measure up to God. It is comforting to know this, as we navigate through different situations in our life, knowing that nothing can ever be too big for God. He is never moved by the problems we face because they cannot shake Him. No man, no power, no principality can even dare to come to us and try and convince us that they are greater than God. Who can compare to the One who created the heavens, the earth, and everything in between?

Dear God, no one can compare to Your greatness. There is no one, not a single being, in this universe that can try to stand up to You. There is none so worthy of that. I am humbled by You, O Lord, that in Your greatness You would count it necessary to have me as Your child. In all the things I have read, seen, and heard of Your greatness, O Lord, I know that there is so much more to Your greatness we are yet to know. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Jesus not only will raise the physically dead at his command at the end of time, but as he walked the earth and even still today, his voice goes out and powerfully raises the spiritually dead to everlasting life. Through the Spirit he sent, his voice is heard. Not those who hear the Gospel physically merely, but also with "spiritual ears" will be saved.
O Lord Jesus, we have passed from death to life (John 5:24) by hearing Your Word. And we know You have life in Yourself to give to men (John 5:26). Open our minds and hearts to understand Your truths, truths that very often the natural mind wants to reject. You have given us life. Give us that life, we pray, yet more abundantly. Amen.

In one sense, we should be followers of "the Lord" (Jesus) alone, but God has also given us godly leaders and teachers whom we do well to emulate. The Thessalonians became followers of Paul insofar as he was a follower of Christ. This occurred when they received the Gospel which Jesus Christ sent Paul to preach. Accepting the Gospel brought them into much trouble outwardly, but inwardly, they could rejoice with a joy given them by the Holy Spirit.

May I be willing to learn from others whom you have placed in my life to help me become a better follower of you, O Lord. If by learning your truths and your ways I must endure suffering of some kind, help me to bear it with joy, knowing that knowing you is more valuable than the pleasures of this life, and so that you can also use me as an example to others. Amen.

God knows everything about us and more. His plans for us are always for peace and out of love – never for our destruction. God has always been concerned about saving His children, and save His children He did. What a loving Father we have found in the Almighty God.

Dear God, I thank you that Your plans for my life are always to prosper me and for the sake of peace. Thank You, Father, for Your endless love that has saved me. Were it not for Your love, Lord, I do not know where I would be. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Seeking the things of God should be your first priority. When you pursue the things of God, you have put yourself in a place where everything that you require will come. God takes care of His own – He always does. Don't think you are missing out on anything when you are focusing on God – because you truly aren't.
Dear God, I set my mind on you and commit myself to pursuing you and the things of your Kingdom. It is more profitable to chase the things of God than the things of this world. You give life; the world does not. May I always remember this, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

We cannot appreciate the magnitude of God's gift of eternal life until we first understand that the wages of sin is death. Wages are what we "earned, " what we "deserve. " "Death" is not only physical death, here, but spiritual and eternal death. Our sin are an offense to the infinitely holy God, and thus justly deserved eternal punishment. But God's grace, which was greater than all our sins, brings us eternal life instead.
Lord, help us to see that your punishment for sin is just and to sense something of the true heinousness of sin. Help us to appreciate more fully how much we were forgiven, and having been forgiven much, to love much. We have been saved by your grace and through faith, we receive Salvation through your Son Jesus.

Part of being a Christian is humbling ourselves and realizing that without God, our lives truly mean nothing. We are to acknowledge that we have made a conscious choice to turn away from the bad deeds and sinful habits, and we have turned to the holy life God has presented before us.

Father, I humbly present myself as one who has chosen to turn away from their sinful ways. It is a choice I made when I chose to follow you and Lord, it is a choice I intend to abide in. Father, help me to walk in a way that is worthy of this calling. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
