Haskell County Angels Set to Offer New Method of Registration
After a name change this spring, the Haskell County Angels are prepared to open registration on Nov. 4.
Due to certain circumstances, formerly known as the Haskell County Angel Tree Association was required to change its name this past spring. Board members decided to change the name to Haskell County Angels and created a new logo.
This year, the program has decided to offer another way of registration, which will be online but will still offer in-person registration as well, according to Stephanie Riddle, president of the Haskell County Angels. Online is not required but is being offered as another option in case a family can not make in-person registration and is also expected to be a time saving measure.
A link to online registration will be published in the coming week’s in the SENTINEL and on the Haskell County Angels page. The complete list of instructions will be provided in the link. Once completed, families will receive email verification. A family that does not receive verification will be considered incomplete and should reach out to Riddle at 918-967-4655.
Registration for the Haskell County Angels program will begin Tuesday, Nov. 4 and continue through Nov. 5 with online registration only. In-person registration will be available Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Methodist Church Stigler located at 502 N. Broadway.
The program is available to area children that reside in Haskell County and Quinton who are 18 and under and enrolled in school. Parents and guardians must provide a SoonerCare card or birth certificate, plus a utility bill to verify their residence in Haskell County or Quinton. If a child is 18, their parents or guardians must present a school transcript. There are no income requirements.
Families that choose to complete the online registration will still be required to provide verification documents, which can be provided online or during in-person sign ups.
This year, only children registered during the allotted registration time will be accepted and no child will be accepted after Nov. 7. If you have any questions, please contact the organization’s page.
“We are excited to help give Haskell County children a great Christmas. We believe offering two types of registration will only strengthen the program and make it easier for working families to sign up. This community has always been so giving and we are thankful for those that donate their time and money to make this possible each year,” Riddle said.
Once registration is completed, Angels will be placed on trees at several locations in Stigler.
Parents and guardians will pick up the Christmas gifts a few days before Christmas. The complete time-line regarding dates to select Angels, return gifts and pick up gifts will be included in an upcoming issue of the SENTINEL.
