We are excited for our partner agency to begin this project! We are excited for the potential growth that this will bring to the Washougal area and are looking forward to seeing more updates on the project!

Community Announcement from the Chairman of the Board, Skamania County Fire District #4 (SCFD #4)

Skamania County Fire District #4 is proud to announce that we have received a grant award of $911,800 from the Washington State Department of Commerce for the construction of a new Living Quarters Building.

This important project would not have been possible without the dedication and partnership of several key leaders and agencies working on behalf of our community.

Special thanks to:
* 17th District State Representative Kevin Waters
* Skamania County EMS and Rescue Superintendent Ann Lueders
* Skamania County Sheriff Summer Scheyer
* Skamania County Fire District #2 Chief Ray Broughton
* Skamania County Fire District #4 Chief Chief Fuller

Construction has begun, with completion scheduled for September 11, 2026. Once completed, the Living Quarters will round out the Western Skamania County Public Service Complex, strengthening our emergency services infrastructure. Housing emergency personnel on-site will significantly improve response times, operational readiness, and professional development opportunities, ultimately enhancing public safety across the region.

We are grateful for the continued support that makes projects like this possible and for the shared commitment to protecting and serving our community.

We apologize for being a day late on this, however we still wanted to recognize the amazing mother's everywhere for their endless support and hope that they had a day filled with love and time with their families.

As first responders it is common for our union members to miss holidays and important events. We especially want to acknowledge the mothers who continue to balance their commitment both at home and on the job.

Thank you to all the moms for everything you do.

Just a few days ago our members had the opportunity to participate at the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters 2026 Kelly L. Fox Legislative conference. In Olympia they were able to work directly with legislators on important issues that impact safety, and the health of first responders.

This conference allows us to better understand what is happening at the State level and build relationships with other neighboring locals.
