๐ October 21st, is SUDEP Action Day.
We're starting the conversation early because awareness, education, and understanding are so important.
Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) is a difficult but important conversation, and one that deserves greater awareness, understanding, and action.
Each year, approximately 1 in 1,000 people with epilepsy die from SUDEP. Behind that statistic are individuals, families, and communities whose lives are forever impacted.
While not all cases of SUDEP can be prevented, understanding the risks, managing seizures, and having open conversations with healthcare providers are important steps we can take.
๐ Awareness starts with education. Action starts with conversation.
We encourage you to take a moment to learn about SUDEP, talk with your healthcare team, and share this post to help others better understand the risks.
Together, we can honor those we've lost, support those affected, and help spread knowledge that could save lives.
Because every life matters. Every conversation matters.๐
