It’s about nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. iate classes for children 6 weeks to 6th grade, our child care is an exciting place where children can stretch their skills in mind, body and spirit. Working parents have the peace of mind that their children are safe and experiencing all that the Y has to offer. Our Y Staff have the capacity, creativity and compassion to nurture each child to their full potential. The Stevens Point Area YMCA is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the development of the whole person: spirit, mind, and body. Families do not need to be Y members to participate in our child care programs, but membership does provide a reduced child care rate. Through our YMCA financial assistance program and funding received from United Way of Portage County, no child is ever denied participation at the Y due to financial need.
