Stevens Point Child Safety Center closing after 40 years

We are sharing the difficult news that Stevens Point Child Safety Center, Inc will be closing its doors permanently on December 1, 2025.
This was not as easy choice. Despite our best efforts, we have faced funding challenges for many years. We do not have the sustainable funding to continue our mission.
We were able to provide many safe car seats and bike helmets to children in Portage County over the years. We thank you for your support and involvement with the organization.
As we wind down our operations, we are working to provide other options for car seat safety education in our community. If you are in need of car seat education, please check out www.safekidswi.org for nearby Child Passenger Safety programs.

Keep medicine up and away, out of reach and sight of children, even medicine you take every day.

Stevens Point residents, this Saturday, the 25th, between 8a-12p, we will have an officer at the Lincoln Center, 1519 Water St. accepting all of your unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. See the flyer for more information. If you can't make it, we have a prescription pill drop box at the Stevens Point Police Department available during business hours, Monday-Friday.

Target announced its car seat trade-in program will return to stores on 9/21.
Customers can trade in an old, expired, or damaged car seat in exchange for a 20% off Target Circle Bonus.
The discount can be used on a new car seat or other baby gear.
