We are hosting Aaron Pape as the keynote speaker at our workshop next Friday, August 28th, in Dodgeville, where he will lead participants through crafting their own business plans for custom grazing.

We are hearing a lot of folks talk about this podcast episode where Aaron discusses the challenges and opportunities with custom grazing dairy heifers. Definitely check it out and let us know what you think!

This weeks guest is Aaron and Erin Pape from Pape Family Pastures, we discuss the challenges and opportunities of custom grazing dairy heifers. We've done this and well and it has it's challenges. Anybody else done it and have thoughts and advice for people interested?

Last week we had the opportunity to co-host a pasture walk with Lincoln County Land Conservation at Derstine Farms! We had an amazing turn out with great conversations ranging from custom grazing to raising cow/calf pairs and different management strategies. As Lincoln County continues to build their grazing network we are excited to be available as a partner in whatever capacity they need.

Last Saturday, volunteers monitored several boat landings near the town of Trempealeau as part of the statewide event, Snapshot Day! The goals were to identify new populations of invasive species and educate new audiences about the concerns they pose.

During the event, volunteers found purple loosestrife, an invasive shoreline plant, in two new locations. They also found previously identified invasive species in these locations, including faucet snails, Eurasian watermilfoil, and Chinese mystery snails.

Data collected during this event helps with invasive species monitoring and control across the state. A huge thank you to all the volunteers that attended Snapshot Day! This event would not be possible without your help!

We could not have asked for a nicer day out at Schoepp Farms. The weather was beautiful, the lake stunning, and the cows happy. Such a big thank you to Ron and Francois for leading the group around the farm and showing us how you manage your herd and protect the lake.
