🎅 Santa Makes a Surprise Stop at Stevens Point Toastmasters! 🎤✨

After a whirlwind December of cookie-fueled all-nighters, rooftop acrobatics, and a sleigh ride that would make any airline jealous, Santa Claus decided to take a well-earned vacation. But where did he go after the holiday hustle?

To improve his public speaking, of course!

On January 2nd, fresh from his post-season relaxation, Santa made a surprise visit to the Stevens Point Toastmasters Club! 🎉

Ho, Ho, Ho... and a Few Filler Words!

Even the jolliest speaker in the world needs a little practice (turns out saying “Ho, ho, ho!” doesn’t count as a full speech). Santa dropped by to brush up on his vocal variety, body language, and—of course—time management (because, let’s be honest, he has one VERY tight delivery schedule).

Table Topics with St. Nick

During our impromptu Table Topics session, Santa tackled some tough questions:

🛷 What’s the secret to keeping reindeer on task?
🍪 Oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip—what’s the superior cookie?
🎁 What’s the weirdest gift request you’ve ever received?

With his usual charm and wisdom, he had us laughing and learning.
Even Santa Knows the Power of Toastmasters!

Before heading back to the North Pole, Santa left us with an important message: "Confidence and communication are gifts that last a lifetime!" 🎁

Kowalski & McKenzie Advance To Northern Division Speech Contest Finals on March 9th

Congratulations to Club #570 members Ted Kowalski and Ken McKenzie for advancing in Area N2 Speech Contests on February 17 in the Evaluation and International Speech Contest competitions respectively. Additionally, much appreciation goes out to Tina Palmgren, runner-up in the Speech Evaluation portion of the N2 competition, for her outstanding representation of Club #570. McKenzie benefited from being the lone competitor in the N2 International Speech effort with his speech entitled: 'I’ll Never Forget You, Ruby Baby!'', with the winners now competing on Saturday, March 9 in another ‘virtual-only’ Northern Division speech contest competition of representatives from N1, N2, & N3 scheduled to commence at 3 p.m. CST.

With the limited speech contest participation in both N1 & N2 areas, it is a worthy reminder that current club members work diligently to achieve Certificates of Completion in Levels 1 & 2 of any Path in the Toastmasters Pathways learning experience (or have earned a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award) to become eligible to compete in a future International Speech Contest! Eligibility in the secondary contests (Evaluation, Humorous, Table Topics, Tall Tales) includes being a paid member of a club in the Area, Division, and District in which they are competing; the club must be in good standing (eight or more paid members) and able to maintain eligibility at all levels of any contest (prompt member and fellow club members renewals bridging March 31 semi-annual member renewal deadline).

Public access links to the virtual contest web presence will be shared once they become available nearer to the contest date.

I think it’s time to go back to school. Ummm. Recently a family member and a friend asked me why I blocked them. I was confused. I checked just in case and there were no blocked people on my list. Then I see this. Hmmm, I am not the only one. So now I am fixing my blocked posts. I wondered where everybody had been! This is good to know. It's ridiculous to have over 300 friends and only 25 are allowed to see posts.
I ignored this post earlier because I didn’t think it worked. It WORKS!! I have a whole new news feed. I’m seeing posts from people I haven’t seen in years.
Here’s how to bypass the system FB now has in place that limits posts on your news feed. Their new algorithm chooses the same few people - about 25 - who will read your posts...
okay here goes....HELLO. To regain friends in your news feed and get rid of ads - Hold your finger anywhere in this post and click ′copy’. Go to your page where it says ‘What's on your mind?’ Tap your finger anywhere in the blank field. Click paste. This upgrades the system.
Hello new and old friends!🥰
