📣Community Notice: Joint Law Enforcement Training at P.J. Jacobs

Please be aware that local law enforcement agencies will be conducting routine training exercises at P.J. Jacobs on Wednesday, August 5th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A large police/EMS/fire presence will be seen, along with people simulating injuries in plain clothes. Note that there is no active emergency or danger to our schools or surrounding neighborhood. We kindly ask that you please stay away from the school site, grounds, and parking lots during this time so officers can complete their exercises safely and effectively.

We appreciate our partnership with local law enforcement to help keep our facilities and community safe.

A large plume of Canadian wildfire smoke has moved into our area, hazy skies will linger into Thursday and possibly Friday.
Combined with high heat 🥵and humidity, these conditions could pose health risks, leading to reduced air quality, especially for those with asthma, COPD, heart or lung conditions, older adults, young children, and anyone sensitive to smoke.

🌫️ What you may notice:
🍊 Hazy skies and an orange-colored sun
🌅 More colorful sunrises and sunsets
😷 Poorer air quality, especially during outdoor activities

☀️ Please help protect yourself and others:
💧 Stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
😷 Limit strenuous outdoor activities if smoke or poor air quality is present.
🏠 Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may be vulnerable to the heat.
