🇺🇸 REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, local Portage County EMS professionals pause to remember and honor all those whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the innocent lives taken that day.
We remember the families, friends, and communities forever changed.
We remember the courage of those who stepped forward to help and the many who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others.

As EMS professionals, we understand the importance of answering the call when someone needs help. We know that behind every call is a person, a family, and a story. That perspective makes us especially mindful today of the countless lives and families forever impacted by that tragic day.

We are proud to serve our community and to carry forward the spirit of compassion, courage, and service that defines emergency responders everywhere.

25 years later, we remember.
We honor every life lost.
We honor every family affected.

From your local Portage County EMS professionals, with respect and remembrance, we will never forget!

🚨🚨
A large plume of Canadian wildfire smoke has moved into our area, hazy skies will linger into Thursday and possibly Friday.
Combined with high heat 🥵and humidity, these conditions could pose health risks, leading to reduced air quality, especially for those with asthma, COPD, heart or lung conditions, older adults, young children, and anyone sensitive to smoke.

🌫️ What you may notice:
🍊 Hazy skies and an orange-colored sun
🌅 More colorful sunrises and sunsets
😷 Poorer air quality, especially during outdoor activities

☀️ Please help protect yourself and others:
💧 Stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
😷 Limit strenuous outdoor activities if smoke or poor air quality is present.
🏠 Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may be vulnerable to the heat.

Please monitor local news and weather sources for air quality updates. Stay safe and take care of one another.
