Una Serata Italiana 2026 at St. Florian Hall was such a wonderful evening! The food was amazing and the entertainment was top notch! It was great to see all of those who attended celebrating our Italian culture! So many people went home with outstanding prizes and our committee is to be commended for taking part in every facet of the event! Well done, Italian American Cultural Club!

The Italian Cultural Club’s Una Serata Italiana 2026 will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. Florian Hall!
The evening will include delicious foods and spirits from three regions of Italy and a dance presentation by our own Campo Italiano campers. We are also pleased to announce that we will be entertained by Le Sorelle DiBacco - three sisters who have performed at many events and festivals over the years. In fact, this year’s Una Serata Italiano marks 20 years for Le Sorelle DiBacco who started their journey with sister Sofia-Teresa performing her first Italian repertoire at Una Serata 2006 and was the beginning of the act.

The members of the Italian American Cultural Club held their annual picnic on the patio at Scaffidi’s Restaurant and Tavern. All who attended enjoyed a delicious meal of hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans and macaroni salad, topped off with watermelon, cake and ice cream. Members celebrated America 250 by answering trivia questions about the USA. They also heard about plans for the club’s “Una Serata Italiana” which will be held on Friday, August 7, at St. Florian Hall. All members have received invitations for the event and the public is encouraged to share in the evening. AWARD WINNING ITALIAN FILM TO BE SCREENED IN STEUBENVILLE
The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County (PLSJ) will host the US premiere screening of an Italian film with ties to the Ohio Valley. "The Value of Life" will be screened for the public at PLSJ on August 6, 2026 at 5:30 pm.
The movie was written and produced by film veteran Salvatore Pate in Belmonte Calabro, Italy, and will be presented by his son, Carmine Pate of Steubenville, in cooperation with PLSJ. Salvatore Pate has spent decades in the film industry, with his first acting role coming in the classic film, "The Godfather." His latest project, "The Value of Life," tells the story of a man whose life is transtormed by dramatic events that challenge his faith and values. This is the second film produced by Pate, who also composed the movie's original songs.
The free screening will be held at the downtown branch of PLSJ on South 4th Street in Steubenville.
Seating is limited to 50 people, so please RSVP to reserve your seat by contacting the library in person or by calling (740)282-9782. Carmine Pate also will offer a short presentation on his father's career and a brief history on the film's production before the movie begins.
