Crusader Alumni from the '60s:
Sr. Barbara Catalano was a CCHS LEGEND in the 1980s - but we know her first stint as a Crusader was student teaching at some point in the 1960s. Does anyone know which years/have any memories to share? Thanks, God bless, and Go Blue!

Special shout-out and congratulations to Richard "Marty" Ridgley , Crusader of the Class of '82, for being named by the United States House of Representatives as a 2026 STEM Learning Champion for all he does to promote learning in science and engineering. Great job and God bless!

Summer Drama. New Principal. New Theme.

In this issue we interviewed our new Principal at BJKM – Patrick Hanus in our Crusader Heritage section!

Our nation turned 250 years old this month! We have a special piece of artwork from the bicentennial that has honored our country in our halls for the past 50 years!

We also feature some of the incredible artwork that decorates our schools and forms our students and staff who daily reflect upon it.

Plus there’s more with Athletics and Drama (Arsenic & Old Lace is being featured in Lanman Hall August 8th and 9th!) , reunions, artwork and more!

The Class of '81 celebrated 45 years!

They met Friday night, July 17th at The Spot Bar. On the 18th they met in the school cafeteria. Classmates provided the decorations, a slideshow, the music and a homemade Italian dinner. They wrapped up our night with DiCarlo's pizza, the Alma Mater, and The Fight Song.

David has kept in touch and stayed very involved with CCHS over the decades and we are thankful!

Staff Spotlight: Meet David Mosti

For generations, David Mosti has dedicated his life to serving families with compassion, dignity, and professionalism. As a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, David has been honored to help countless families through some of life’s most difficult moments.

A 1975 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School, David continued his education at Youngstown State University before earning his mortuary science degree from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.

Beyond the funeral home, David is an active member of Triumph of the Cross Catholic Parish and proudly serves his community through organizations including the Serra Club, the Kiwanis Club of Steubenville, and as a board member of Union Cemetery.

Family has always been at the heart of everything David does. Today, he is proud to work alongside his two sons, Justin and Jared, who both continue the family tradition as licensed Funeral Directors. Together, they are carrying on the values of compassionate, personalized care that families have trusted for generations.

When he’s not serving the community, David enjoys spending time with his wife, Marilyn, their four grandchildren, and the family they have built together.

Calling hours are today (Monday) 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Father Michael Gosset, celebrant. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Shirley's family has asked that memorial contributions be made in support of our students at CCHS.
