Questions about our upcoming Pathways to Connection Mini-Retreat? We’ve got answers!

We’ve been getting some great questions about who this event is really for. The short answer? If you are involved in caring for someone with special needs, this event is for YOU!

Here are a few quick FAQs to help clear things up:

❓ Is this just for moms?
Absolutely not! Dads, support professionals, therapists, teachers, paraprofessionals—anyone and everyone involved in caring for someone with special needs is highly encouraged to join us. It takes a village!

❓ Is this just for autism?
No! This event is designed to support caregivers of individuals with all abilities and diagnoses.

❓ Is it focused only on kids?
Not at all. This is for caregivers supporting people of all ages. The information, strategies, and resources shared can be taken and used at any stage of life.

Join us for a one day mini-retreat at the JeffCo Event Center on Saturday, August 22nd. The day will include two inspiring keynote speakers, lunch, time to connect with others, and local resources.

Last night, we had the absolute joy of celebrating the wedding of our dear friend and founding member, Kristina, as she married the love of her life, Anthony!

Special Connections simply wouldn't be what it is today without Kristina's vision, heart, and endless dedication. From the very beginning, she has brought so much light to this community, and seeing her shine so brightly on her special day was truly unforgettable. ✨

We are wishing the beautiful newlyweds a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless adventure together. Thank you for letting us share in your magical night!

Have you heard about the NEW Opening the Gate Inclusive Show at the Harrison County Fair?

We believe every child deserves a chance to be in the show ring.

This special event is designed for individuals ages 8+ with disabilities or special needs to experience the excitement of the show ring in a supportive, non-competitive environment.

✅ Peer buddy provided
✅ Rabbit or chicken provided
✅ Ribbons, recognition, and fun
✅ Celebration lunch after the show

📍 Birney Sale Barn, Harrison County Fairgrounds

Our goal is simple: create an arena where everyone belongs.
