Last week, we were contacted by Aubri Dicarlo. Aubri is a Family Recovery Center
Prevention Educator.

She requested assistance in adapting her prevention curriculum to cater to the unique needs of her students with developmental disabilities. Statistics indicate that individuals with developmental disabilities who engage in substance use are at a higher risk of developing substance use disorder (SUD). Therefore, they wanted to ensure that their prevention services encompass all populations.

Thank you, Aubri and Family Recovery Center, for taking the steps to adapt your prevention curriculum to help every student.

ℹ️
There is a disturbing trend going around involving high doses of Benadryl (diphenhydramine).

Teens are intentionally taking large amounts of the allergy medication to hallucinate.

🕴️🫣
Some call it the “Hat Man” challenge, because of a recurring hallucination thousands of people have reported to see.

⚠️
This is not a harmless trend. Benadryl is a medication, and in large doses, it can be life-threatening.

Taking excessive amounts of Benadryl can cause:
• Severe hallucinations
• Seizures
• Heart rhythm problems
• Organ damage
• Coma
• Death

⚠️
Please talk to your kids about the dangers of misusing over-the-counter medications.
