Happy Birthday to Brother Eric Behrens! He’s been with us since May 2021! When he’s not fighting fires you can find him daydreaming of owning a cattle farm. Fun Fact! He strongly contemplated taking his wife’s last name.

Local 2301 will once again be doing a Yeti Raffle to raise funds for the Garrett Ramos Memorial Scholarship at this years Legends Of-The Rock fishing tournament on June 6th. Tickets will be 1 for $5.00 or 5 for $20.00. You need not be present at the tournament to win. If you would like to purchase tickets before the event you may visit Station 1 at 110 W 5th Street in Sterling. Make sure to provide your name and phone number! This year’s cooler is bigger and better than the previous so do not miss out.

Happy birthday to Brother Jonathan Finlon. He’s been with us since April 2025! When he’s not studying roads and practicing hose deployment you can find him living an almost exclusively nocturnal lifestyle. Fun Fact! His father was a police officer in Chicago. Thank you for joining the good guys instead Jon!

Happy birthday to Brother Garrett Helfrich. He’s been with us since January 2025! When he’s not counting down the days to the end of his probation he’s trying to figure out how to put his axle back in his truck. Fun Fact! He bought a boat and named it “New Kids On the Dock”.

Sterling Fire Department is lighting our stations red in remembrance of our fallen brother Garrett Ramos during this National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

There is not a day that goes by that the brothers in Local 2301 do not think about our fallen brother Garrett. When you pass by the station and see red over the next week remember his sacrifice, reflect on the example Garrett set, and if you want to show your support and gratitude for all our fallen brothers and sisters like Garrett turn your home or business red as well.

We love you G and we miss you every day.

Happy birthday to Brother Clark Liedberg. He’s been with us since 2014! When he’s not leading his crew into fire he’s leading his wife to the world’s biggest toothbrush and other large oddities. Fun Fact! Clark has lived in an igloo longer than any other member of Local 2301.
