This is home to Logan Shearer, the Challand middle school STEM teacher who has spent the past 10 years encouraging students to push beyond what they think they’re capable of. 💫

Her commitment to local kids extends far beyond the classroom. Logan is entering her tenth season coaching high school softball and also coaches middle school volleyball.

Teachers and coaches like Mrs. Shearer are the glue of our community. They challenge our kids, believe in them and help shape who they become. We’re grateful that Sterling Schools is home for Logan Shearer. 🏡

This week, we celebrate the farmers who rise before dawn, work long after the sun goes down, and quietly provide for families and communities every single day. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment to serving their communities through the work they do often go unseen, but they never go unnoticed.

To every farmer, thank you for the early mornings, the late nights, the sacrifices, and the pride you pour into your work. Because of you, our communities are stronger, our tables are full, and future generations can continue to grow.

For more than 20 years, Mead's Bike Shop has been part of what makes Sterling feel like home. 🚴🏽‍♂️

Now six locations strong, the shop’s downtown Sterling roots are still where the journey begins. With weekly group rides, scenic riverfront paths, and miles of local trails, Bryce Mead and his team are helping more people explore Sterling one ride at a time.

Over the past few months, we’ve had the privilege of hearing the stories of people who live, work, and help shape Sterling to what it is today. They all have different paths and different backgrounds, but they share one thing in common. They are proud to call this community home.

As summer continues, remember to stop into a local shop, support one another, explore a new business, spend time along the Rock River, enjoy our parks and trails, and make the most of everything Sterling has to offer.

Home is more than a place. It’s the people who make it worth coming back to. 🏡

As a familiar face in our community, Jose knows that home is about more than just where you live.

For some families, home isn’t just living in Sterling… It's where generations have built a life.

For Adrian Kested, Sterling has always been home. He’s raising his four children here, all of whom attend Sterling High School, and he’s proud to work in the community that has shaped his family.

For Colleen McCarter, Frantz has been part of her story for nearly four decades. She has dedicated 38 years to the company, and the connection runs even deeper. Her husband’s family also spent many years working at Frantz.

Their stories are different, but they share something special: deep roots, hard work, and a commitment to the community they call home. That’s what makes FRANTZ Manufacturing Company feel like home in Sterling.
