Friends of Sterling Elementary This is the official page of the Sterling Elementary PTO. Our school is in the heart of Sterling, Alaska. Members can join for $7 per person or $10 per family.

We look forward to using this page to share upcoming events and to have a positive place for our parents, teachers and community to connect. Friends of Sterling Elementary is an all volunteer nonprofit with the main goal of helping Sterling Elementary provide the highest quality education possible to its students. It aims to achieve this goal by: *providing numerous essential educational programs

, supplies and resources through its fundraising efforts;
*providing support to it's school by coordinating volunteers for classrooms and for school events
*providing important information about the school and community through it's Newsletter and Facebook site
*facilitating a closer relationship between home and school by promoting and hosting family events
*facilitating a closer relationship between school and community by participating in and organizing community outreach drives and events
The PTO's executive board is currently comprised of 9 parents and teachers. The positions on the executive board consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Co-Treasurers, Communications Chairman, Fundraising Chairman, Audit Chairman and the school Principal. Dues are charged to cover the PTO's liability insurance needed for its events. The more members the PTO has the stronger it will be and the more it will achieve. The PTO plans to have membership meetings quarterly and invites you to come and see how you can help your child and their school grow to their fullest potential!

Sterling Elementary PTO is proud to host our final event — the Sterling Community Color Run on May 9th at 11AM! This one is for every kid who's walked those halls, every family who's called Sterling Elementary home, and every neighbor who's shown up for us when it mattered.
Start near Bings Landing, finish at Izaak Walton — covered in color and surrounded by the people who made this school great. Booth setup at 10:30!
👕 Grab an official Sterling Elementary t-shirt — we're just covering costs, no big fundraiser — and let that color fly on something you'll treasure long after the doors close.

💙 A Message from the Sterling Elementary PTO 💙
Our hearts are heavy. As many of you know, the school board has voted to close Sterling Elementary. This news is devastating for our students, our families, and our entire community.
But here's what we also know — we are Falcon Strong. And we are not done yet.
The Sterling Elementary PTO is committed to making these last few months the most memorable, joy-filled months our kids have ever had. Our students deserve to go out celebrated, and that is exactly what we are going to do.
Here's what we have planned:
🧁 Weekly Bake Sales — to keep our funds going strong for our kids
🚌 Field Trips — paid for by the PTO, because these kids deserve adventures
🎉 One Last Falcon Fun Night — because we couldn't let the year end without one
🏃 Fun Run — our students AND staff giving it their all, together
🍎 Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week — honoring the incredible people who showed up for our Falcons every single day
🌟 Field Day — one last day of pure fun and friendly competition
🧺 End of Year Picnic — a proper sendoff for a school that meant everything
If you'd like to support our bake sales, volunteer, or just come cheer our kids on — we would love to see you. This community built something special here, and we are going to honor it until the very last day.

What an AMAZING day at our Tape Mr. Nate fundraiser! 🎉 The kids had an absolute blast — the laughter, the cheering, and the teamwork made it such a fun event for everyone involved.
They worked so hard to earn every single piece of tape, and watching their excitement as they got to help tape Mr. Nate up was priceless! 😂 It was such a great reminder of how much joy we can create when our school community comes together.
Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and supported this fundraiser. Because of you, we’re able to continue doing great things for our students. And a huge thank you to Mr. Nate for being such a good sport!
We truly have the best kids and the best community.

🎅✨ Santa’s Workshop is Coming to Sterling Elementary! 🎄

Friends of Sterling PTO is excited to host Santa’s Workshop again this year! We’re looking for donations of items for our students to shop for — gifts for men, women, and children are all needed.

🗓 Donation Dates: November 1st – December 5th
🎁 Suggested Items: tools, handcrafted items, toys, housewares, home décor, and more!

You can drop off donations in the Christmas-wrapped barrel located in the Sterling Elementary lobby, or at Sterling Senior Center, Naptowne Brewery, and Magpie’s Pizza.

💰 Don’t have items to donate? You can still help by donating cash to purchase wrapping supplies and gifts for the workshop!
