LINK Against Hunger

LINK is a Christian organization that delivers food to families in need in Herndon and Sterling, VA. LINK, Inc.

is an emergency support organization which consists of a group of dedicated churches, organizations, and individuals that provide food and financial assistance to qualified people in need in the Western Fairfax and Loudoun communities. Volunteers do all the work, and most goods are received from donations. Donate to LINK through United Way #9648 and CFC #78589 or mail donations to: LINK, PO Box 443, Sterling, VA 20167-0443.

Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will be providing free meals this summer for students ages 18 and younger at several locations throughout Loudoun County (see the list below.) LCPS provides this free service to our families through participation in the USDA Summer Food Service Program.

The program has certain requirements LCPS must follow, including:

• All meals must be consumed at the school or site location.
• Food cannot be taken off-site.
• Meals cannot be picked up by a parent or guardian to bring home.

Below is a list of all locations and times, Monday-Friday. Meals will be first-come, first-served. The locations will be closed on Friday, June 19 & July 3 (except The Sterling Library, which will be open on July 3).

• Sterling Library June 15–July 31, 2026 (including, July 3) Lunch: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Frederick Douglass Elementary School June 17-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Park View High School June 17-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m. -1 2:30 p.m.
• Seneca Ridge Middle School June 15-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m. -9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Sterling Elementary School June 17-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Sterling Middle School June 17-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Sully Elementary School June 17-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Sugarland Elementary School July 17-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• The North Star School June 17-July 31 Breakfast: 7:45 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Lunch: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Families in need of additional food assistance over the summer can visit the Loudoun Feeds website & click the “Find Food” button to find a list of partners with food supplies on hand. Loudounfeeds.org provides a calendar that shows the date, time, location and requirements of open food pantries.

We had a beautiful day today for our LINK distribution serving the local community. Thank you to all the volunteers who worked yesterday and today bagging and moving items to help those in need. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank Trinity Presbyterian Church for hosting this event.🥰

LINK would like to thank the staff and students of Bishop O'Connell High School for their assistance at the pantry storage facility today.

We had a very hard working group who scrubbed all of our storage bins and carts, while also sweeping and mopping the (large) floor.

After that task they sorted the incoming donations and prepared snack bags for distribution at our event tomorrow.

We appreciate all your hard work, dedication and time that you gave and shared with us today. God Bless❤️

Please consider helping us stock up for the summer months! Food donations fall during the summer so we could use your help! It is easier than you think! If you are interested in having your school, workplace, scout troop, church or club host a food drive to support LINK Against Hunger, let us know! You can host it virtually by using our Amazon Wish List or you can hold one in person. As summer approaches and kids will be home for summer break, please consider helping us stock the pantry for the summer months...If you are able to donate non-perishable food items they can be placed in the lobby of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church (46833 Harry Byrd Hwy Sterling, VA) or they can be dropped off at Trinity Presbyterian Church (Dranesville Road, Herndon, VA) in the barrel outside the main doors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am-12 noon or inside the entrance on Sunday mornings or you can drop off donations in the bins outside the front door of Herndon United Methodist Church 701 Bennett Street, Herndon, VA 20170. LINK was invited to attend The Head Start Resource Fair and Family Engagement Event, along with approximately 15 other organizations in the area.

Families walked around to learn about needed resources that are available to them. Our LINK volunteer Barbara was there from 5-6PM to represent the services of the pantry. Afterwards, families were invited to stay for activities and enjoy a puppet show.

We appreciate the invitation and this way to engage with families and let them know what resources we have available to them.

Today's Mobile Pantry served 145 families who received lots of fresh produce! Thank you to the Capital Area Food bank for their donation and to all the volunteers who showed up to assist serving the local community...We also thank The Good Lord above for a GORGEOUS day to hold this distribution.❤️
