The Stephenville City Council is meeting tonight at 5:30, a vote will be held to approve the city's operating budget for the fiscal year of 2025-2026 which would include a raise for all first responders. Stephenville Police Association would request that as many citizen and community members would attend the meeting to support all Stephenville first responders and support the city council for their efforts to take care of the current first responders and to make our city competitive in recruiting new first responders. This has been an issue for as long as many people in the community can remember and this City Council and City administration are the ones finally correcting this issue.

The Stephenville Police Association is excited to share that the City of Stephenville is currently discussing a 14–18% salary increase for our officers! This is a historic step forward and one of the largest raises ever considered for our department.

While the process is still moving forward and final decisions are yet to come, this discussion marks an incredible milestone. It shows a strong commitment from our city leaders to invest in public safety and to ensure our officers have the support, resources, and security needed to continue protecting our community.

If approved, this increase will be instrumental in helping us recruit and retain outstanding officers, provide for their families, and maintain the high level of service that Stephenville citizens expect and deserve.

We are grateful to our city officials for recognizing the importance of this conversation and to our community for standing with us every step of the way. This is more than just numbers—it’s about building a safer, stronger, and brighter future for Stephenville.

We look forward to seeing this important step come to life in the weeks ahead. Thank you, Stephenville, for your support!

🚨 HUGE WIN FOR MONTGOMERY COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT 🚨

When Commissioners and the County Judge recognize that public safety must be the top priority, everyone wins.

TMPA and the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Association worked together — with persistence and determination — to secure a monumental pay increase that honors the service and sacrifice of their members.

When we stand united, we win.

Did you know Governor Abbott signed House Bill 3161 into law on June 20th? It goes into effect September 1st and gives TMRS cities the option to raise employee contribution rates up to 8%.

This could have a major impact on retirement benefits across Texas. 💰

👉 Know of any TMRS cities planning to adopt the new rate? Drop them in the comments!
