Ron will be greatly missed. As regularly attending member of the club, he was always quick with a joke yet had a serious, sensible approach to our many topics of discussion. His family has generously requested MCPC as a club to support in Ron’s memory.

RONALD G. ZAHORIK, 68 of Stephenson passed away on Sunday May 10, 2026 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee surrounded by his family. Ron was born on January 12, 1958 in Menominee to George and Pauline (Kramer) Zahorik. He was a 1976 graduate of Stephenson High School. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Michigan University. On October 4, 1986, Ron married Susan Loskot at Precious Blood Catholic Church. Ron worked for Payne & Dolan, MJR and as maintenance supervisor at Roubal Care & Rehab Center. He retired as maintenance manager at Aerial in Marinette. Following retirement, Ron worked part time for Ruleau Brothers, Menco and Stephenson Township Cemetery. Ron was an active member of Precious Blood Catholic Church where he served in various capacities. He served his community for many years on the Stephenson Public Schools Board of Education and was currently on the Stephenson City Council. Ron was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Stephenson Mid-County Sportsmen's Club, UP Whitetails and Menominee County Pheasant Club. He found pleasure in hunting, gardening and land conservation. Ron loved working his land for the love and enjoyment of his family. Horse management was a past-time he and his wife Sue enjoyed together.

Survivors include his wife: Sue; 3 daughters: Ashley (Brandon) Grinsteiner, Shayna (Jason) Dionne and Megan (Colin) Zahorik-Cesternino; grandchildren: Tenley, Nora, Adelyn and Nella; siblings: Karen (Dan) Plutchak, Kathy (Pete) Dziedzic, Barbara Zahorik, Todd Zahorik, Roberta (Bob) Koutnik and Mary (Cliff) LeClaire; brother-in-law and best friend: Steve “Fat Buddy” Ruleau; brothers-in-law: Fr. Don Loskot and Jeff Loskot; along with many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents: George & Pauline; in-laws: Bill & Stella Loskot; sisters: Debbie (Roger) Hayward and Donna Ruleau; and brother: George Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday May 18, 2026 at 11:00 am at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Father Don Loskot officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery.

Ron would want us to remember: “Do not take life too seriously. Take every chance you get to make someone else smile!”

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ron’s honor to Knights of Columbus or Menominee County Pheasant Club.

The Menominee County Pheasant Club is once again offering its youth chick program. Youth 16 and under are able to receive 25 chicks and 25 pounds of feed. The club asks that they be raised to at least 6 weeks of age before releasing them. This year’s pick up date is June 8. To sign up or any question text me Joe Wagner at 906 37four 2901. You will need to provide heat lamps, waterer’s, feeders and draft free area. Please be patient as I work a lot of hours and get a lot of requests for chicks.
