📣 Rain or shine, tomorrow’s events at the Newtown History Center are STILL ON for tomorrow, Saturday, May 23rd!

Since all activities are indoors and several of our special guests are unable to reschedule, we’re excited to continue with a full day of history, community, and family fun. The Newtown History Center will be open FREE to the public from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Here’s what you can look forward to tomorrow:

🫖 The Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting a tea on the front porch, rain and all, along with a sewing demonstration inside the museum.

🧩 Plenty of fun for kids including:
• A scavenger hunt with a chance to win a model wagon
• Coloring books and puzzle books
• Historic games and hands-on activities

🚎 Trolley tours will depart at:
• 10:00 AM
• 11:30 AM
• 4:00 PM

The tours will explore the lives of Revolutionary War soldiers who once lived in Stephens City. While tours are currently sold out, there may be a few last-minute openings from no-shows. We’ve already had three spots open up for the 4:00 PM tour!

We hope you’ll still come out and enjoy a cozy day of local history with us tomorrow. ☔📚

📣🌧️ IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Friday evening’s event at La Grange Family Farm IS STILL ON as planned. 🎻🍷🌾
📍 5498 Valley Pike, Stephens City, VA

All Saturday activities at the Newtown History Center are also STILL ON, including all scheduled trolley tours.
📍5408 Main Street, Stephens City, VA

However, after closely monitoring the weather forecast and hearing from a number of vendors, partners, and participants who have unfortunately had to withdraw due to the expected rainy conditions, the festival committee has made the difficult decision to postpone Saturday’s Newtown Heritage Festival activities.

While the event was originally planned as rain or shine, our goal has always been to create a fun and enjoyable experience for the entire community. With several key participants no longer able to attend and the forecast continuing to worsen, we feel postponing Saturday’s festivities is the best path forward to ensure the event can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

We are currently exploring alternate dates for Saturday’s events and will share updated information as soon as plans are finalized.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s understanding, flexibility, and continued support. We still look forward to gathering together Friday evening at La Grange Family Farm for Bluegrass in the Barn, and hope to celebrate the full festival together soon under much better conditions. 💛
