❄️ December 2025 Call Log ❄️

We had many accidents and vehicles in the ditch last month. Please be smart when traveling this winter. — Slow down to a safe speed for current conditions, turn off cruise control, and don't drive distracted. When traveling in poor conditions, please make sure you have gas and a winter survival kit.

We are at a breaking point here at SVAS. We don't have enough EMTs to cover our day shifts. There may be times where you wait an extra 30 minutes for help when you call 911 for medical services. That can be deadly in some situations.

Please consider checking out our EMT class starting on May19th. There are still spots and time to hop in. If you are interested, message us here.

Also, contact your representatives and tell them rural areas need their help to staff ambulances.

In the final days of the legislative session, lawmakers must act to shore up EMS services — especially in rural areas.

It's Volunteer Week!

According to PointsOfLight.org, National Volunteer Week was instituted in 1974 as a way to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to strengthen communities and address the challenges that face us as a society.

HelpGuide.org notes these four proven benefits of volunteering:

More connection.
-Volunteering offers chances to make new friends and polish social skills.

Better mental and physical health. -Volunteering combats stress, depression and chronic pain, increases self-confidence and gives us a sense of purpose.

Potential career advancement. -Volunteering can provide networking opportunities, a chance to learn new job skills and exposure to professional organizations.

More fun and fulfillment.
-Volunteering can be an avenue to explore varied interests, renew creativity and take a refreshing break from our day-to-day routine.

Please ask us about ways to volunteer with us that may suit you. There are MANY ways!

Today we are remembering Connie Troska, who was the foundation for SVAS for so many years. We miss you!
