The USW’s Rapid Response Department marks its 30th anniversary this year! Rapid Response is a non-partisan, grassroots initiative, that engages members across the union in the fight for laws and policies essential to working people.

In recent years, we’ve successfully worked to restore benefits to public-sector workers through the Social Security Fairness Act and extend services to veterans through a combination of federal and state laws.

Executive Order Strips Collective Bargaining from Federal Workers

On Thursday, March 27, President Trump issued an executive order usw.to/5bn that would eliminate the right to collectively bargain for nearly a million federal workers. While the Administration claims this action is necessary for national security, the order fails to address actual security concerns.
