๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ American Legion Post 115 Honor Guard โ€“ D-Day Remembrance ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, June 6, we pause to remember the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy during the D-Day invasion in 1944. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination helped secure freedom for future generations and changed the course of history.

More than 160,000 Allied troops took part in the largest amphibious invasion in military history, facing impossible odds as they fought to liberate Europe from tyranny. Many never made it home, giving their lives in service to something greater than themselves.

As members of the American Legion Post 115 Honor Guard, we honor the heroes of D-Day and all those who have worn our nationโ€™s uniform. Their legacy reminds us that freedom is never free and that the sacrifices of our veterans must never be forgotten.

Today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the courage of the Greatest Generation and to remember those who gave everything on the shores of Normandy.

โ€œLet us never forget that liberty was purchased with sacrifice.โ€

Honoring Our Veterans โ€” All Week Long

Our Honor Guard has had a truly meaningful and busy Veterans Day week. We began with a powerful joint ceremony at the McCreary County Courthouse alongside the VFW and the ROTC, coming together as one community to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our nation.

Today, we continued that mission with a special ceremony at our local nursing home, once again joined by the ROTC. It was an honor to stand before our veteran residents, recognize their service, and ensure they know their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

To all veteransโ€”past, present, and futureโ€”thank you. Your courage, commitment, and service inspire us every single day. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโค๏ธ
