Steamboat Tennis Association The Steamboat Tennis Association (STA): it’s for the kids!! The STA is a primary source of funding for junior tennis in the Yampa Valley.

Membership and sponsorship dollars fund grants and scholarships for junior players between the ages of 5 and 18 and provides funding for the boys and girls Steamboat Springs High School Tennis Teams. The STA supports SERVES, Adaptive Tennis, In-School PE Tennis, Middle School Co-Ed Tennis and Team Steamboat (traveling tournament team). Through hosting of Special Events, Socials and a summer Tennis

Tournament, which includes a dinner with silent and live auctions, the organization provides activities for adults and juniors throughout the year. The STA acts as the main advocate for youth tennis in the Yampa Valley. SERVES is a wonderful program for youth who may want to learn to play tennis, but who might not have the resources available for coaching. SERVES is an acronym for: Success, Education, Respect, Values, Excellence and Self-Confidence and these principles are built into the fabric of the program — a program that incorporates more than just tennis. Athletic skills development as well as learning and practicing life and leadership skills round out our holistic approach for youth development. At the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center, our SERVES program includes tennis, life skills and leadership training, and healthy snacks!

Our very own Ann C**n is the recipient of the USTA CO Arthur Ashe Award. Her passion and dedication to the STA SERVES program is nothing short of irreplaceable. Congratulations on a much deserved award! We are excited to see you receive it next weekend.

One more post to celebrate this amazing accomplishment and well deserved recognition of Steamboat's own, Ann C**n. Ann is the recipient of the USTA Colorado Arthur Ashe Award.

Congratulations are in order for Steamboat Tennis Association Board Member Ann C**n who has been selected as the 2025 USTA Colorado Arthur Ashe Award winner! Honoring Arthur Ashe, a world-class player who used tennis as a means to knock down barriers and advocate for youth, this award recognizes an individual for longtime outstanding contributions to the growth of tennis among under-resourced populations in Colorado.

For many years, Ann has displayed unwavering commitment to opening doors for youth from under-served communities - connecting them to tennis while supporting their growth both on the court and in the classroom.

The award will be presented at the Colorado Tennis Hall of Fame & USTA Colorado Annual Awards Gala on Saturday, November 8, 2025. STPC and STA representatives will be attending the awards dinner to celebrate Ann's accomplishments and dedication to youth tennis in Routt County. Way to go Ann - we are all very proud of you!

The STA has initiated a tennis program for the parents of our students in the Steamboat school district currently participating in the SERVES tennis program for at risk youth. Once a month parents are invited to receive tennis instruction from ours pros and enjoy open play with other parents learning the great lifelong sport of tennis. Our goal is to create opportunities for families to play and enjoy tennis together.
