Last week, Partners for Youth and REPS were awarded $20,000 from this August’s Tour de Steamboat bike race! A huge thank you to the Tour de Steamboat team and all the riders who made this possible!

These funds will directly support group activities for our mentoring matches, materials for our School-Based Mentors, and free prosocial events for our Youth Action Councils. We are so grateful for this incredible investment in local youth!

What a 5th Quarter event to remember!

More than 100 youth showed up for an incredibly colorful night at MCYAC’s Color Jam! 🎨

MCYAC youth told us they wanted more opportunities to gather and have fun on Friday nights, and we love seeing their ideas come to life. Providing free, safe, and sober spaces where young people in Craig can connect, make friends, and feel like they belong is what these events are all about.

Thank you to all the youth who came out and made this such a fun night!

A day at the ranch!

Over the years, many of the youth in our Community-Based Mentoring Program have asked for opportunities to spend time with horses, and we were so excited to make that happen! Recently, 12 of our matches spent the day at Saddleback Ranch, getting to experience life on the ranch and, of course, spend plenty of time with the horses.

One of the things we love most about our programs is being able to open doors to new experiences that youth may not otherwise have access to because of financial, transportation, or other barriers. These experiences give mentors and mentees the chance to try something new together, build confidence, strengthen their relationship, and make some pretty great memories along the way.

A huge thank you to Saddleback Ranch for helping us create such a special day for our matches! 💙🐎

✨ Sunday Spotlight ✨

Meet Lindsay, our SUPER DUPER AWESOME Executive Director! Help us celebrate 5 years of having her as Partners for Youth’s Executive Director! 🎉💛

How she got involved: Lindsay first came to Routt County in 2009 as an AmeriCorps School-Based Mentor with Partners and spent six years with the organization. After leaving in 2015, she jumped at the opportunity to return as Executive Director in 2021!

Why she supports youth: “Our community is better when we actively work to connect with one another. When youth connect with their peers, with adults, and with their community, it is good for all of us and has long-term impacts on young people in the best possible way.”

Favorite Partners memory: After more than 10 years with Partners, it’s impossible to choose just one! For Lindsay, it’s the Partners community, from coworkers and board members to volunteers, donors, local businesses, and the amazing youth we work with.

Fun fact: Lindsay only planned to stay in Routt County for one year, but she met her husband three days after moving to Steamboat and never left!

We’re so grateful for Lindsay’s leadership and everything she has brought to Partners over the years. Happy 5 years as Executive Director, Lindsay! 🎉

Introducing one of our newest matches!

Did you know that throughout the mentor application process, our case managers take the time to really get to know each mentor? This helps us carefully match mentors with a young person based on personalities, interests, and what feels like a great fit for both.

So you could say this new match started off pretty strong. 💪
