WOMEN WHO LEAD STARS: BAILEY BAKER🌻

Meet Bailey Baker, STARS Operations Director!

Originally from Alabama, Bailey made her way to Colorado in 2016 before finding her forever home in Steamboat Springs in 2017. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work, specializing in children, adolescents, and families, Bailey has spent her career supporting people and creating opportunities for others to thrive.

Why Bailey Loves STARS

Bailey’s passion for inclusion started early, inspired by her mother’s belief that everyone deserves to experience all that life has to offer. From outdoor adventures and new friendships to personal triumphs big and small, Bailey believes nothing should stand in the way of a fulfilling life. That belief aligns perfectly with the STARS mission, and she loves being part of a team that shares her passion for making those experiences possible for individuals of all abilities.

A Little More About Bailey

When she’s not keeping STARS operations running, you can find Bailey hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, or fishing. She believes spending time in nature is good for the soul, and that happy dances should be practiced daily! She shares that philosophy with her soulmate and best friend, Brett, along with a loving circle of family and friends.

We’re grateful for the heart, dedication, and passion Bailey brings to STARS. Her belief that everyone deserves a life full of adventure, connection, and possibility is at the heart of what we do.

WOMEN WHO LEAD STARS: MIAH TAYLOR🧚‍♀️

Meet Miah Taylor, STARS Camp Director.

Miah brings a deep passion for adaptive recreation, outdoor adventure, and creating meaningful experiences for people of all abilities. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Recreation Administration and Recreation Therapy, with a focus in Outdoor Recreation.

Her career has included directing adaptive summer camps, facilitating adaptive ropes courses, therapeutic horseback riding, and adaptive skiing. In 2021, Miah completed her CTRS internship with the United States Adaptive Recreation Center in Big Bear, California, where she fell in love with adaptive skiing. She has since earned her PSIA Adaptive Alpine Level 2 certification.

At STARS, Miah leads our camp programs with the same passion, creativity, and commitment to making the outdoors accessible that have shaped her career.

Why I love STARS:

“The passion and dedication that everyone has for the work we do is what got me hooked on working for STARS!”

A little more about Miah:
• Loves hiking, backpacking, skiing, paddle boarding, and all things outdoors
• Was on the Cross Country Ski and Dive teams in high school
• Has an awesome twin sister
• Tries to go line dancing at least once a month

We’re lucky to have Miah leading the next generation of STARS campers and helping make adventure possible for everyone.

Today is Steamboat Resort closing day at the Steamboat Bike Park and we wanted to share the amazing promo photos the resort team shot to help us promote our brand new Adaptive Mountain Bike Program. This season, we worked alongside the resort to ensure trails were accessible for adaptive riders, and were able to create accessible pathways for disabled riders to get on the mountain. Thank you to the entire steamboat team members who made this a reality so quickly!! So much love and appreciation for our partnership… this is just the beginning!! 🫶🏼🚵♿️
