These dedicated Scouts wrapped up the Hiking MB with a beautiful, but tough 20 mile hike on the Continental Divide on Sunday. Great weather and trail conditions but still, 20 miles is 20 miles and that's what makes the Hiking Merit Badge one of the more difficult ones to earn. Congratulations! Great job and thanks for the outing Ayden, Gio, Trout and Joe!

Allrighty! T he Hiking MB hike #5 was super beautiful, green and great temps as we hit the Zirkel Circle for 11.4mi and 2300'+ of climbing up to Gilpin Lake, then over Circle Pass and down by Gold Creek Lake. Everyone was crushing it and it didn't even look like it was going to rain on us. Too easy really, so we unleashed some angry hornets by stepping on their nest and almost everyone got stung, some several times! NOW we're on a hike to remember! Good job Ayden, Hawk, Trout, Gio, Joe, Rob, Rose and Gulliver! Remember to fill in #4 (Hike Plan) and #5 (Hike Report) for each 10 mile hike you've done and get ready for our biggie, 20 mile hike in the next couple weeks!

David Wallace's classic Pumphouse-Rio Rancho raft weekend saw the Troop enjoy(!) every type of river conditions from searing sun to buckets of rain, often at the same time! The water was cold, the music was loud, the Perseid meteor shower was amazing and we only had 1 fall into the river. Plenty of jumpers but only one fall-er! Thanks to David, David T., Emelie, Rose, Rob, Cole, Gio, Ethan, Daniel, Hawk, Trout and Gulliver for all the good times!
