We were honored to welcome Colorado State Senator Julie Gonzales to Integrated Community this week.

Sen. Gonzales stopped by to learn more about our work, hear directly about the needs of the immigrant families we serve, and better understand this vital part of our Northwest Colorado community.

June is Immigrant Heritage Month — a time to celebrate the stories, cultures, and contributions that make our communities stronger.

This week, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment shared that 1 in 9 Coloradans is an immigrant and 1 in 8 workers is foreign-born, helping meet critical labor needs across the state — and contributing an estimated $9.5B in taxes each year.

At CIIC, we see this impact every day in Northwest Colorado: neighbors building businesses, caring for families, showing up in classrooms and workplaces, and sharing the traditions that make our region feel like home.

This month (and always), we’re celebrating immigrant heritage — and recommitting to creating a welcoming, inclusive community where everyone belongs.
