Welcome summer intern, Elizabeth Gilbert!
Elizabeth recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and Art History. A Steamboat Springs native, she is excited to spend the summer at the museum, where she will learn more local history while gaining hands-on experience in museum work.

Elizabeth fondly remembers: "Every Fourth of July, my favorite part of the day was going to the Tread of Pioneers Museum to get Routt beer floats. During elementary school, when we were preparing for the iconic Colorado History Play, my classmates and I walked from Soda Creek Elementary to the museum to experience our history first-hand. And my girl scout troop decorated one of the trees for the annual Festival of Trees. I can still remember how magical it felt to be in that room."

As we reflect on the significance of this day, we honor the ongoing pursuit of equality and the strength found in bringing people together.
