🌱🌳 Plant Giveaway Today! 🌳🌱

HEC is out volunteering at the Phil Chacón Community Garden and there are still free plants, seeds, and trees available for the community! 💚

Stop by and take home a variety of fruit trees, including apricot, plum, fig, apple, and pomegranate, along with ornamental trees, seedlings, and seeds ready for planting.

Events like this help strengthen local growing, food access, and greener neighborhoods for everyone.

We’ll be here until 12:00 PM — or until all the plants find a new home! 🌱

Come by and get what you need while supplies last. We’d love to see you there!

🌍 Join the May Day Strong gathering at Civic Plaza and be part of a day centered on collective voice and community connection.

Building health equity requires strong communities, shared leadership, and spaces where people can come together.

May Day is an opportunity to reflect on the systems that shape our lives and the role of collective action in creating healthier, more equitable communities.

We’re glad to see community partners and residents coming together for this important day.

Before changes show up on the street, they start here.

Walking together. Listening. Noticing.

Through community walk audits along Central Avenue, neighbors, partners, and community members come together to share their experiences—what feels safe, what doesn’t, and what needs to change.

This work is sustained by people showing up, shared knowledge, and partnerships that turn community voice into action.

Now, we’re taking the next step.

Join Together for Brothers as they review the data collected from the walk audit and pair it with photos that help bring the story to life.
