Our president, Georgi, is cooking up a recycled/upcycled fashion show for our Earthtober activities. Mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 10, 5pm! Proceeds will help fund upcycled costumes for American Shakespeare Center's production of "The Tempest!"

Meet Georgi Tomisato, co-creator of The Reimagined Runway Staunton AND one of our designers, happily modeling her upcycled creation amidst the colorful abundance of Art Hive Collective.

Her look? A dress made from plastic bags, bubble wrap and other upcycled treasures, topped off by watch-face earrings.

Georgi is Founding President of Shenandoah Green and Co-Chair of Earth Day Staunton, so finding new possibilities in things other people might toss out is pretty much in her DNA.

And Art Hive Collective is a wonderful supporter of The Runway, even offering 30% off to our Designers on their Runway designs.

Trees need YOU! Join our Tree Staunton Tree Stewards to water our drought-stressed young trees. They'll be at Shelburne/Ware tomorrow and Staunton High on Tuesday, starting at 9:30am. 🌳💦🌎

We watered school trees at Dixon yesterday. Will be doing Staunton High School on August 11 and Shelburne/Ware on the 8th. Starting at 0930 both days.

We can use all the help we can get!

Do you have these “Tree of Heaven” in your yard? Look for the Spotted Lantern Fly nymphs (they an either black with white dots or red with white dots ) and spray them with a mix of 50% dish soap & 50% water to eradicate them! -species

Watch labels on plants and seeds or ask your nursery if any have been treated with systemic pesticides, and avoid those! Plant native perennials, like bee balm, coneflower, and black-eyed susan.
