Happy World Bee Day! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’šSupport your local solitary bee species--mason bees, bumblebees, leaf-cutter bees, etc.. They pollinate most of our flowers and food plants. No elaborate hives needed.

๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ŸBuzz buzz! It's World Bee Day! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

Native bees are the super-pollinators of the garden! While honey bees have their place, itโ€™s actually solitary bees, such as mason bees and leafcutter bees, that are critical to growing food and flowers.

The world is home to more than 20,000 species of bees, so let's celebrate them all! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ Learn more about these amazing heroes of pollination! Almanac.com/native-bees-best-pollinators-your-garden

Thank you to everyone who came out for our first Cigarette Butt Cleanup Day yesterday! We collected an estimated 2,100 butts off the streets of downtown Staunton. So 2,100 toxin-filled butts that won't end up in our soil and waters.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
Some of the worst places were on Middlebrook by the train station and the Depot, City Bank parking lot, Dollar General, and Hardee's. One man who was standing on Middlebrook smoking as we were picking up the many butts in the street said he never litters his butts. He puts out his cigarette and puts the butt in his pocket until he gets to a trash can. He pulled a handful out and showed us. ๐Ÿ’š
So if you smoke, don't be a butthead! Keep your butts off the ground. Respect your neighbors and your planet. ๐Ÿšฌ๐Ÿšญ

Get your butts down to the Wharf at 1pm for our Cigarette Butt Cleanup! ๐Ÿšฌ๐Ÿšฎ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒŽ

Shenandoah Green celebrated Veteran's Day with volunteers at the Veteransโ€™ Garden of Augusta, planting new trees at the VFW in Staunton. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’š

It was a simple, meaningful way to honor those whoโ€™ve served while adding more life to a space that means so much to our community. Huge thanks to everyone who came out, got their hands dirty, and helped these young trees take root.

Small acts of care like this add up & weโ€™re grateful to grow something lasting together.
