What an honor to have a Staunton FFA member recognized at the Illinois State Capitol!

The Illinois House of Representatives passed a House Resolution, HR 0882, sponsored by Representative Wayne A. Rosenthal, congratulating Molly on her National Proficiency award and continued success.

The resolution states, “Molly McCalla’s accomplishments highlight the critical role of youth leadership in advancing agricultural innovation, sustainability, and stewardship, which are essential to Illinois’ multibillion-dollar agricultural economy.”

The FFA chapter is proud to announce that two members are advancing to state!

Madelyn Davin earned 1st place in District III Prepared Public Speaking. In prepared public speaking, members present a 6–8 minute speech over an agricultural topic and then answer questions from judges about their speech and topic.

Katie Davin earned 2nd place in District III Creed Speaking. In creed speaking, members recite the FFA Creed and answer questions about its meaning and purpose.

Congratulations to both members on their hard work and accomplishments, and best of luck at state!

Section Banquet was held on May 4th! Prior to the banquet, section elections took place, and we’re proud to share that two Staunton members were elected. During the banquet, several awards were presented to hardworking Staunton members who truly earned the recognition. Great job to everyone who represented Staunton so well!

On April 9th, 9 Staunton FFA members competed at the Lincoln Land Livestock Judging contest. The reasons team placed 10 classes of livestock then gave reasons for 6 classes. The non reasons team also placed 10 classes of livestock.
