Staunton Makerspace

Staunton Makerspace The Makerspace is a non-profit organization focusing on innovation, collaboration, and creativity. We hope to establish a location in Downtown Staunton.

We ensure affordable tools, training, and resources are available to the community for personal growth, career advancement and entrepreneurship. "Makerspaces typically provide access to materials, tools, and technologies to allow for hands-on exploration and participatory learning. They are occasionally referred to as fablabs, hackerspaces or tech shops." -- oedb.org/ilibrarian/a-librarians-guide-

I tend of think of MakerSpaces are modern libraries where you can get hands-on access to technology that is not widely available, such as 3D printers and Computer controlled Routers. It's also a place to get access to people with real expertise in electonics, manufacturing, art, and programming. A delightful collision of skills and expertise that could help us experiment successfully. We are working to establish (and would welcome contact from) local educational groups and organizations.

Member Tricia Martin shares “Busy morning with our amazing teacher James Klawon. The Staunton Makerspace is my favorite place. I’ve watched my boys learn so much over the last few months. The future is bright because of places like Makerspace and also because of people who are there to help guide your creativity”

One of the best parts of the Makerspace isn’t just the tools, equipment, or classes—it’s the people. Every new member brings fresh ideas, unique skills, and new perspectives that make our community stronger. Members like Jordan giving back to the Makerspace are what keep us growing.

Whether you’re interested in woodworking, pottery, welding, 3D printing, sewing, electronics, or just curious about making something with your own hands, there’s a place for you here.

Please join us in giving Jordan a warm welcome!

Learning in the metal shop is just adult arts and crafts…

…but with more sparks and significantly cooler results.
