Please join us for our next Staunton PeckaKucha, Vol 3: Parents Edition

This PK is about creating space for parents, so come by Staunton Augusta Art Center on Sunday, June 9 at 2:00 pm. All are welcome—parents, grandparents, our LGBTQ+ community, visitors, residents, art-lovers, music lovers, and all kids at heart.

We will hear stories, play games, and have activities for all ages!

Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

Calling all parents! Do you have a story to tell?

If you are interested in sharing your story navigating parenthood, please let us know by filling out this simple form: https://forms.gle/7CKSe8HveBdie9JK7

Our next edition of PechaKucha Staunton is geared for parents and is set to take place on the afternoon of Sunday, June 9. We know it takes a village, so we are setting up the PK: Parent Edition with some extra help so you can present on any topic you like while your kid(s) are entertained. The event will take place at the Staunton Augusta Art Center where we will set up the presentation stage in the main gallery and provide a family-friendly arts & crafts area in the rear gallery.

If you are not familiar with PechaKucha, it is a fun and zippy format that is 20 slides x 20 seconds each —the twist is slides advance automatically so you have a hard stop after 6 minutes and 40 seconds!

Last week we had an amazing PechaKucha Staunton event! Shout out to the Staunton Augusta Art Center for hosting us and a big thanks to our speakers who shared their stories!

Jeremy J. Starn shared his beautiful photographs of a wooden boat building project in Costa Rica.

Grace Gardner talked about her interactive installation piece Mary Baldwin University to get people to think about our relationship with our actions and the environment.

The Pizza Zeitgeist was presented by Xon Henry -- and now we see pizza slices everywhere!

Noelia Nuñez is an artist, yoga instructor, and coach all of which flow and feed into one another.

Real Creative Studio artist Laura Thompson shared her process of mark-making, finding, cutting, puzzling, and finishing with us.

And Martha Saunders talked about "Moving Back, Forward & Sideways" and the transition between spaces of the past and present.

We hope to see you at the next one in late May/early June, so stay tuned!
