We provide a compassionate and truthful space, striving to open minds and change hearts through empathy, knowledge and conversation. We believe that healing will happen as we acknowledge and correct historical and cur

Week 14 of the Cold Weather Shelter will be hosted at Waynesboro FM Church with Waynesboro Mennonite Church serving as the overflow site. 🧑

As we head into the final month of the season, we’re especially grateful for these churches β€” and for all of our community partners β€” who have stepped up week after week to ensure our unhoused neighbors have a safe, warm place to stay.

Thank you for helping us continue this vital work.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Waynesboro Garden Center for serving as a drop-off location for our toiletries collection. The collection resulted in a substantial truckload of donations.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of delivering seven boxes to Waynesboro School. Today, with the kind assistance of James, we delivered an additional fourteen boxes, with seven boxes going to Augusta County Schools and seven to Staunton City Schools.

We would be most grateful if you would allow us to share this information on our page. We particularly wish to extend our thanks to Waynesboro Garden Center and the generous residents who contributed, as well as all the individuals from Staunton and Augusta County who participated.

This teen homeless drive has once again proven to be a successful endeavor. Thank you.

Safe parking programs designate areas where individuals and families living in their vehicles can legally park overnight. Around the country, these programs often include access to restrooms, showers, and security. Many offer support services like case management, and other resources to help with finding stable housing. Faith-based groups often support these programs.

Rain Camerlinck, from James Madison University, recently completed a needs assessment for establishing a safe parking program in Harrisonburg. She will present on what communities are doing around the country and what she learned about some of the issues that need to be considered for developing them in our area.
