I am so sad to say that the Community Garden box took too much abuse from the storms and is no longer at the corner of Rt 4 and Phillips Streets :(

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the box over the years and to everyone who came and enjoyed the overflow from others' gardens.

I will miss filling it and just seeing it there every day. It brought me a lot of joy.

I wish I knew how to rebuild it but I don't. :(. So sorry to all of you who loved it.

Miss Sara from Vintage Station brought so many goodies to share today! I also filled the box with green tomatoes for anyone wanting to make fried green tomatoes this week.

Fall is here and the contents of the overflow box will change but I will leave it out as long as weather permits!

Farm fresh eggs, cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes in the box today!!

Some kind soul shared fresh eggs this morning!

For anyone worried about eating eggs that aren't refrigerated, unwashed eggs can be stored outside of the refrigerator. Once washed in room temperature water, they then must go into the fridge. A good litmus test if you are worried about how old or how fresh an egg is, is to submerge it in water. If it floats, throw it out. If it stands up on its end, it's still good for baking. If it lays down it's fresh as can be!

Come and get some eggs before they're gone! There is nothing better.

Guess what I just put in the produce box! My overflow tomatoes!

Come and get some or pick some up for someone you know who can't leave the house to get some or isn't in a position to grow their own.

Please be mindful to leave some for the next person and take only what you need.

I love sharing what we grow with our neighbors and community!

Just a small reminder of how much the little things are actually not little at all.

What the world needs now more than ever, is more of us sharing what we have. Sharing our food. Sharing our talents to help one another. So many have more than they need while some don't have enough. We don't have a lot, my husband and family and I...but what we do have is a garden and we are so happy to share.

Things are hard for so many right now.

It really matters.

Kathy Ann brought some hot peppers and cherry tomatoes to the box today. And we have some yellow squash and lots of cucumbers too!

I spied some tomatoes, peaches and cucumbers in the box this morning!!!

Big thanks to whomever left the beautiful cucumbers today. I didn't grow any this year and was able to take one and make a gorgeous cucumber tomato dill salad with olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
