Well yesterday was a great success, we did 7 loads of laundry, The first few loads we had a little mix up and used scented fabric softener instead of soap. Hey they came out a lot cleaner then they went in, and were soft and sweet smelling. Jason was our first ever person to get his clothes washed and was forever grateful. I want to thank everyone that came by to help or just stopped by to say hello and see us in action. I will tell you that it was very rewarding watching the smiles we put on people's faces as they were getting their clothes cleaned. Some shared their stories and some just wanted to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather that we were blessed with. Thank you to everyone that made this day a great event. There's too many people to mention by name, so I am thanking you as a group. What comes to mind is Matthew 25:40. I will post when the next event will be when we confirm the date. Looking forward to seeing you at the next one.

Well today’s the day we bust out the bubbles. All the months of work and blessings are being put to the test. We have our first, I hope for many more, ever Suds of Hope washing event. We will be at the Cove Church in Statesville over by the big blue box store. Feeling a lot of emotions, excitement and anticipation, hopefully and praying everything goes well and that we can handle anything thrown out way. If you want to come down you are more than welcome.

Well at last we finally got the bus decorated and I think it came out fabulous. A lot of hard work was put into designing it with a lot of ideas flying around. After all was said and done, we agreed to the final product. But, there's always a but when it comes to this project. When it came time to pay, we were told it was all taken care of by a third party. The bill was paid in full by an anonymous donor. Is God great or what!!! Thoughout this whole project there's been blessings upon blessings as you can see on the back of the bus. There were so many others but I couldn't put them all on there.

We had our SoH board meeting today and finally set up our first event, but I can tell you it will be in the upcoming weeks. We will post pics after to show us in action.

Well today was a big day, we took the washers/dryers for a wet/dry run. Had a couple of hiccups along the way. Found out that you can’t cap the waste tank because it needs to vent or else the discharge water will back up out of the drain. The dryers took a little longer then I liked to fire up, maybe just impatient, but it took some time to purge air out of the gas line. While running the dryers, one started making a strange noise and kept getting louder and louder. Well time to shut it down and investigate. After taking it apart I found something was rubbing the drive belt. Took it all apart and couldn’t find anything other than the belt was all twisted up. Put it all back together and took it for a test run. Absolutely ran like a new dryer should!!! What was the cause, I haven’t the slightest idea but at least it’s working. So overall, everything is working the way it should.
The next step is putting finishing touches on the bus and setting it up for the road show. Stilling waiting for the final design for the graphics. It happens when you get different ideas coming to together and trying to find that certain look. The business cards came in, another check off on the list.
Stay tuned, There's more to follow.

Big milestone today. Welded the propane tank frame under the bus tonight. Thanks to my neighbor Joe, who fabricated the whole frame, spent tonight welding it under the bus. The next step is filling the tanks and installing them and finally putting the finishing touches on the dryers. Then will test run the dryers for any issues, after we leak test the gas lines.

Suds of Hope wants to make a shout out to Diversified Finishers, located in Stony Point. The propane support frame was dropped off, after Joe had finished welding it after fabricating it, to have it powder coated. Drove the The Ark down because they wanted to see what the bus looked like. Well they were totally amazed at what we have accomplished and wanted to be part of us. They donated their time and services to us at no cost. I've used them before for myself and it’s always a pleasure to deal with them, great service and very reasonable prices. Such a great company. The attached photo shows the finished frame but excuse the dust that’s on it. One more step in getting The Ark on the road and in service.

Just a quick update on the progress of the Ark. Shes back from getting the oil changed and state inpsection. Thanks to Bill Martins Tire, Statesville, for doing that. A great 3 generation tire company with knowledgeable staff and great customer service. Found the bus to be in excellent shape and the only issues it hard was bad wiper blades.
The support for the propane tanks, for the clothes dryers, are all welded together and were dropped off to get powder coated. They are a little busy and told me it might take 3-4 weeks to get completed.
Normally it would be a problem but due to an unforeseen medical procedure I had done a week ago, 3-4 weeks total recovery, it’s not an issue. As soon as it comes back it will have to be welded to the frame and gas supply connected.
And then she will be completely done.
Once we arrive at that point, I will update pics on what the completed inside looks like.

Well on its maiden voyage, down to the gas station, filled her belly up with fresh fuel. Down the interstate we rumble, handles like a dream and surprisingly runs smooth and quiet. Everything working great and even have some tunes playing on the radio. Boy this is really becoming a reality!!! After about a 20 minute ride I pull up to the shop where she will get a detailed inspection, tires, brakes, front end, etc, and fluids checked and changed. Seems strange coming home and seeing the driveway empty, but gives me an opportunity to clean the driveway from all the debris that was under it.

This past Saturday we were working hard on the frame that will hold the propane tanks under the bus. Fitting, welding, grinding and measuring in task. I know I'm not really wearing great work clothing but I wasn't planning on working either, I was checking on the layout. By the end of the day we mocked it all up and was delivered to the powder coater today. The bad news it might take up to 3 weeks before we get it back. Just have to be patient and faithful.....
