Paola Diniz, created the foundation having in mind the millions of patients that suffer from cancer all over the world. Preventing and treating cancer still poses a major challenge and affects not only patients but also friends and family. Diniz herself experienced the painful loss of family members to this disease and decided to use all the means available to tirelessly fight cancer. Towards this

goal, we would like to create not only a night of awareness for the challenges of preventing and treating cancer but also a movement of support and hope for those affected by this disease. Paola Diniz strongly believes that together we can help scientists to achieve a common goal: the prevention and treatment of cancer. Our Mission

The mission of the ARD Foundation is to raise funds and foster basic and translational research to identify genetic causes of specific cancers, understand how genes contribute to the disease, and use that understanding to help develop better prevention and treatment strategies. We believe that using genomic approaches as well as immunotherapy we will be able to not only promote early diagnosis and prevention but also develop cutting edge technologies to successfully fight cancer. Towards this goal, we have an ongoing collaboration with the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York to support their Cancer Genetic and Genomics program. In addition, we also plan to support and fund many other universities and cancer research institutes all over the United States and Brazil. Vision

The vision of the ARD Foundation is that using cancer genomic and immunotherapy approaches we will be able to develop new diagnostics and treatment tools to successfully fight cancer. Towards this goal, we would like to create bi-annual fundraising events to create awareness and raise funds to support high impact breakthrough and game-changing discoveries to fight cancer all over the world.

The number of new cancer cases seen around the world has been growing at an exponential rate with each passing year.

In order to understand how genetics contribute to the disease, The Alcides & Rosaura Diniz Foundation (ARD) raises funds for research into the hereditary causes of specific cancers.

The ARD Foundation aims to facilitate breakthrough discoveries in genomic therapy and immunotherapy that will lead to successful cancer prevention and treatment for everyone, everywhere.
