Youth Career Commission Inc.

Youth Career Commission Inc. Rebranding of Youth Career Camp Inc. In 2006, Youth Career Camp Inc. We arranged industry tours, job shadow opportunities, and helped prepare them for College.

A Nonprofit organization of dedicated professionals commissioned to developing young future and present-day professionals, providing them access to resources which empowers them to achieve responsible independence and upward socioeconomic mobility. Mission:
To teach, and train youth & young adults ages 13 - 24 from diverse low income families AND rural underserved communities the essential skills

, personal qualities, and values that will enable them to thrive in the workforce and society, to provide educational and career path guidance, to power the link between education and the entrepreneurial spirit & the business ownership mindset as a career path, and to help them achieve responsible independence and upward socioeconomic mobility. Purpose:
Help youth and young adults make good lifestyle decisions to deter the negative impacts of bad choices in the future; to make training and learning applicable, enjoyable, inspirational, and retainable; demonstrate the value of education and the rewards of hard work; give youth a broader perspective on life; provide youth with an exciting training experiences they would not likely experience otherwise; inspire youth to discover their own passion, purpose, and careers; cultivate clear vision for their future; to provide training which includes but is not limited to:

· The Web-based job application process
· Résumé portfolio preparation
· Job Interview skills
· Entrepreneurial and Small Business Development
· Personal attire and professional image projection
· Preparation for higher education
· Financial literacy
· Health, Wellness, and Fitness Training

Objective:
To provide affordable and free programs with measurable training outcomes of skills which can be used immediately, to develop active community contributors. After attending YCCI programs, youth will be able to demonstrate improved employability and STEAM skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and a basic understanding of Local, National, and Global economics, and how this knowledge effects them as individuals. was one of the first organizations to teach youth age 13 how to complete job applications, create résumés, and prepare for job interviews. The workforce and the world has changed since then, and we’ve made notable adjustments in service delivery and programming to accommodate those changes. Up to the tragedy of COVID-19, we were providing 2 weeks of residential training for youth and young adults, including advance employability skills, entrepreneurial training, and in-depth industry exploration across the country. All those skills and opportunities remain important. Notwithstanding, they are insufficient alone to meet the technological advancements and demands youth face today. Embarking upon the year of 2021, a careful reevaluation of the mission of Youth Career Camp Inc. as compared to the needs of youth and young adults of the future, we believe it was time to reset the organization’s mission, purpose, and vision to remain relevant. Over the years we have learned that each new generation of youth face new challenges, and being a relevant service provider for generations to come means we must continuously create new value in the eyes of those we serve including community stakeholders (MoveTheNeedle), because new challenges often generate new value shifts. To remain impactful in 2022 and beyond, we must be a relevant organization with a culture of value creation while maintaining our sincere compassion to serve, yet improve the caliber of professionalism and mastery in training. Moving the needle toward the future for YCCI includes the utilization of virtual technologies, distance learning, global awareness & connectivity, increased Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) training, assembling quality instructors, dedicated administrative and support personnel, strengthening the Board of Directors and ceasing the opportunity at the start of a new year to transform our brand to represent our new name, mission, purpose, and vision. In January 2021 we published our new Brand and Logo marking the next phase in our journey towards the future, and new opportunities to help transform the lives of the youth & young adults we are commissioned to serve. This rebranding of the visual identity of Youth Career Commission Inc., displays the vision for the future and reflect our historical core principles of serving, inspiring, and training. The logo was designed to depict the transformation programming we provide, and the commitment to maintaining the focus on our vision, providing opportunity, building excellence, and mentoring to success.

IN CELEBRATION OF JUNETEENTH

Juneteenth is more than a celebration. It is a sacred reminder of freedom delayed, truth revealed, dignity restored, and justice still being pursued.

On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally received the news that they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. That moment reminds us that freedom declared is not always freedom delivered. It also reminds us that the work of justice must continue until every person, every family, and every community has the opportunity to live with dignity, purpose, and hope.

For me, Juneteenth carries deep meaning. Since I was 21 years old, as a young private newly serving in the military, I have had the privilege and responsibility of leading young people from all walks of life. I have seen young people rise through discipline, opportunity, encouragement, and truth. I have also seen how injustice, limited access, and unequal systems can place unnecessary weight on their shoulders.

That is why the work of Youth Career Commission Inc. matters so deeply.

At YCCI, we are committed to helping young people understand their history, recognize their worth, and prepare for their future. We especially remain committed to uplifting young Black youth whose ancestors endured bo***ge, injustice, and exclusion, yet still built, believed, resisted, and dreamed for generations they would never see.

Juneteenth reminds us that our youth were never meant to be less. They were never meant to dream small, live beneath their potential, or accept limitations placed on them by history, systems, or circumstances. They are heirs of strength, courage, creativity, intelligence, and resilience.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, we honor the past, but we also accept the responsibility of the present. We must continue teaching truth, opening doors, building opportunities, strengthening families, challenging injustice, and preparing the next generation to lead with purpose.

Juneteenth is remembrance.
Juneteenth is responsibility.
Juneteenth is resilience.
Juneteenth is a call to keep building.

May we never forget how far we have come, and may we never grow weary in the work of helping our youth go even further.
