This is a page for the Alpha Sigma Chapter of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc.. La Familia of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is a brotherhood composed of undergraduate, graduate, and professional men internationally, established on December 26th 1931. Phi Iota Alpha is the Oldest Latino Fraternity in Existence. We dedicate ourselves toward the empowerment of our Latino community by providing inten

sive social and cultural programs and activities geared toward the appreciation, promotion and preservation of the Latin American Culture. Although historically all Hispanic, Phi Iota Alpha has become a very multicultural organization with the induction of many brothers of Asian, African and European descent. These non hispanic members join for many reasons one main reason being their desire to learn about another culture. We promote and appreciate a diverse brotherhood which adds to one of our greatest strengths of bonding like a true familia. Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. would like to wish a ¡Feliz Dia De Los Mu***os! College is a home away from home for many. It is a place of exploration and finding one's passion in life. 50% of sexual assaults happen within the first months of school as well. That is a disturbing statistic that affects everyone: a friend, relative or romantic partner you know may have been sexually assaulted.

We call upon all Brothers of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to take initiative in helping prevent sexual assault and to change the atmosphere of campuses for the better good.

If you see something, say something.

"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." -Nelson Mandela

During tough times we must remember to love. Remembering the legacy, contributions, bravery, and resistance to oppressions of a group of people should be a loving practice that we engage in every day of our lives. Let us not be constricted by honoring Black History solely in one month.
"Black history is American history!" -Morgan Freeman

We would like to wish all our Distinguished brothers and supporters a Happy Anniversary. We look forward to seeing all of you in Washington, DC in July!

Since 1970, Native Americans have gathered at noon on Cole's Hill in Plymouth to commemorate a National Day of Mourning on the US Thanksgiving holiday. Many Native Americans do not celebrate the arrival of the Pilgrims and other European settlers. To them, Thanksgiving Day is a reminder of the genocide of millions of their people, the theft of their lands, and the relentless assault on their culture. Participants in a National Day of Mourning honor Native ancestors and the struggles of Native peoples to survive today. It is a day of remebrance and spiritual connection as well as a protest of the racism and oppression which Native Americans continue to experience.
