It’s our honor to be able to share the gift of life saving equipment with UAU

We are happy to share exciting news.

Thanks to the generous heart of the Staten Island Heart Society, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) have been donated to our four Staten Island Cornerstone Centers: Berry Houses, South Beach, West Brighton, and Mariner's Harbor. These devices are now on-site and ready to protect all who walk through the doors every day.

This gift carries special meaning. It comes in the spirit of the late Rachel Volpe, RN, who served as Executive Director of the Staten Island Heart Society for 12 years. During that time, she taught CPR to more than 8,000 people and personally oversaw the donation of 250 AEDs to nonprofits across Staten Island. Her belief was simple: where minutes count, having the right tools in the right places saves lives. This donation is a living continuation of that belief.

To Dr. Salvatore Volpe and the entire Staten Island Heart Society family, thank you. Our communities are safer because of your dedication and generosity.

It was an absolute pleasure to donate a live-saving AED to Community Health Action of Staten Island at their new location on Bay Street! Helping them to support their mission of making Staten Island a safer place for us all!
