A Place to grow making headlines news in Sierra Leone

‘A Place to Grow Educational Center’, a humanitarian nursery school for destitute children, was officially opened at 5 Kaillie Lane, Kpetewoma Section in the southern Sierra Leonean city of Bo on 27 March 2013. No fees charged. Lunch is served free of cost.

Our projects:
1. Breakfast and lunch - We want to provide a healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks to our students.
2. Uniforms - The proposal is for supporting poor, destitute children in the urban areas of Sierra Leone by providing uniforms for the children.
3. Spacious and conducive environment - Currently, we are seeking donations to help us purchase a permanent home for our children at A Place To Grow.
4. Learning materials - We are seeking donations of books designed to create - or supplement - our school and classroom libraries for children in under-resourced communities.

Farrah Holm-Garcia is a bpard member. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 4, 1976. She is the eldest daughter of her parents Leonard and Donna Holm. She resides in Staten Island and is a New York City Public School Special Education Teacher. Currently, she teaches core subjects such as English, Math, in addition to social studies to sixth grade special education students. She has obtained license from New York State as a general education and special education teacher in grades 1-6.
