Friends of the Abraham Manee-Seguine Homestead As a 501(c)3 non-profit, our mis2005 An addition made of rubble-stone and Tabby, was added by Abraham Manee in the late 18th century.

The Abraham Manee House, also known as the Manee-Seguine Homestead, is a three-part Colonial Dutch dwelling similar to the Billou-Stillwell-Perine House in Old Town, and was designated a New York City landmark in 1984. Located on the South Shore of Staten Island on Purdy Avenue, and adjacent to Lemon Creek, the oldest section is a one-room structure built by Paulus Regrenier in 1670. The Seguine f

amily purchased the homestead in the 1780s and built an addition in the early part of the 19th century. It is purported to be the oldest Dutch structure on Staten Island (dated circa 1670) and is threatened with demolition. Address:

As of December 2019, the Homestead has been secured by Landmarks Preservation Commission in anticipation of judgment from final litigation. The owner, Leonard Tallo, was sued for "demolition by neglect." Judge Philip Straniere ruled that he pay $8.5 million in fines or surrender the property to NYC. This is the 4th oldest house in NYC. It deserves our respect and care; especially with the Seguine Mansion just across the street.
