Staten Island Strong

Staten Island Strong We are a grassroots organization in Staten Island dedicated to the cleanup and restructuring of the homes devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

WHO WE ARE:
We are a grassroots organization in Staten Island dedicated to the cleanup and restructuring of the homes devastated by Hurricane Sandy. We started out as a few friends trying to help someone clean out their basement and quickly realized that the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy was far worse than any of us had imagined. The Staten Island community has come together in droves to volun

teer and help their fellow New Yorkers. We are completely volunteer based and anyone is welcome to join. HOW WE WORK:
We are funded by the Carl V. Bini Memorial Foundation; please take a moment to check out this organization and all the wonderful work they are doing. http://www.facebook.com/carlvincentbinimemorialevents

We will update daily on what Staten Island Strong has been doing. We will give details as to our next meet-up through status updates so please check back here daily. This page will also be used as a hub of information, so please post anything you think is relevant to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. We are a community after all! YOU GUYS:
If you are interested in volunteering with us, it is as simple as showing up to one of our scheduled meet ups. If you have any questions please send us a facebook message and we will gladly address any questions / concerns you have. You guys are good humans. Hey everyone! Columbia, SC was hit hard with flooding from Hurricane Joaquin. I shared our experience about how we all set up an Amazon wedding registry for people near and far to help us through the devastation. Take a moment, and send them supplies that they really need. They stood by us during Sandy. Now it's our turn. No gift is too small. Buy some trash bags, buy some rubber gloves. We are in this together.

Dear Friends,
Please take a moment and vote for Yellow Boots to receive a $25,000 grant from FedEx.

Formed from two of the other primary volunteer groups since Sandy first hit, Yellow Boots continues to aid those that are still being affected from Super Storm Sandy in a very real way.

Please vote for them at the link below so they can continue their fine work.
Please vote AND SHARE the link. They deserve all the help they can get!

There are so many amazing groups out there doing amazing things. Working together we're an unstoppable force. Sandy Rebuild Staten Island- Yellow Team, Cedar Grove Instant Kitchen, F.F. Carl Vincent Bini Memorial- Events Page, Operation Sandy Claus. There are days and long nights where every second of volunteering can be taxing to even the best. Then you have a night like tonight where everything lines up and everyone steps up and you just can't be any prouder of the people you are honored to stand side by side with. Pallets of Chocolate chip cookies, storage concerns addressed, toy donation drives, oh and 1000+ Christmas trees just in time for the holidays.

Today was a cold gray day, but the fire that every one of our volunteers burned was brighter and warmed every house we touched. Between the thankful tears, the sweat from muscle, and the laughter of bonds being forged during all this- amazing is the only word that continues to describe what happens when individuals come together in the face of tragedy. We'll get some fotos up shortly, but they won't be able to capture what's been happening on the ground. To each and every one of you that has come out (past, present, and future) this has been a truly humbling and moving experience and a thank you will never be enough for us to express what it is that you are all doing.

Hi Everyone,
Tomorrow night the Carl Vincent Bini Memorial fund will hold this event. It will raise money that helps, among many other ways, to directly get our volunteers supplies and necessities.
Please come out to support.

tell your friends. Tell your bosses. Tell your Human Resources people.
You'll probably spend just as much going out anyway, you should do it for a good cause.
