The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation provides support for non-for-profit organizations primarily located in the Borough of Staten Island and aids in the support of higher education for the children and grandchildren of the employees of The Nicotra Group, the Hilton Garden Inn Staten Island and the Hampton Inn & Suites.

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation supports our home Borough through grants to nonprofit groups, organizations, and schools within the Staten Island community. Today, we highlight how A Chance In Life The Village - A Chance In Life utilized their Nicotra Foundation grant.

A Chance In Life held a Youth Leadership Workshop for Staten Island high school students, providing them with valuable skills and tools for success, including public speaking, financial literacy, resume building, and more.

The Nicotra Foundation thanks each organization for making a DIFFERENCE in the community we LOVE. Our future leaders are another reason to LOVE Staten Island ❤️

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation was established in 2008 to create social impact from shore to shore on Staten Island. The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation has awarded more than $4.2MM in scholarships and grants to more than 500 nonprofit organizations on Staten Island, as well as granting scholarships to the Nicotras’ employees’ children and grandchildren as they pursue degrees in higher education. The Nicotra Foundation is fueled by the Nicotras’ two social enterprise eateries, the COMMONS café, and Pienza Brick Oven Pizza Café, which they own and operate while giving 100% of the profits from each eatery to ‘DO GOOD’ in the Borough they LOVE.

❤️ We LOVE to SPREAD KINDNESS with the Staten Island Community ❤️

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation supports our home Borough through grants to nonprofit groups, organizations, and schools within the Staten Island community. Today, we highlight how PS 9 Naples Street Elementary School utilized their Nicotra Foundation LOVEducation grant.

P.S. 9 students earn Star Credits when they treat others with respect and kindness. They can redeem their credits for prizes at the school’s Star Shop, with the LOVEducation grant helping fund the rewards and creating a fun way to recognize and encourage positive behavior.

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation is leaving a lasting legacy on Staten Island with a $802,750 donation!

🎭 We’re thrilled to continue our Hamilton on Broadway experience, giving Staten Island middle school students the opportunity to see the award-winning musical and experience the magic of Broadway firsthand.

🎓 Through our annual LOVEducation Grant, every elementary school on Staten Island received a $1,000 grant to expand access to art, music, gardening, and cultural experiences for their students.

Since 2011, The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation has now donated $4.2MM in grants and scholarships to more than 500 organizations, ALL powered by the generosity of the Nicotras who gift 100% of Profits from their COMMONS café and Pienza Brick Oven Pizza Café 🍕☕️

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation is proud to continue investing in the future of Staten Island. At today’s Fall Foundation Awards Ceremony, Lois and Richard Nicotra presented more than $800,000 in grants and scholarships to support students, educators, nonprofits, and local causes across our borough! 🎉

❤️ We LOVE to CONNECT with the Staten Island Community ❤️

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation supports our home Borough through grants to nonprofit groups, organizations, and schools within the Staten Island community. Today, we highlight how P25R utilized their Nicotra Foundation LOVEducation grant.

Through P25R’s “No One Sits Alone” Bench Project, students painted a bench now on display at Clove Lakes Park, promoting mental health awareness, inclusion, and connection within the community.

❤️ We LOVE to GROW with the Staten Island Community ❤️

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation supports our home Borough through grants to nonprofit groups, organizations, and schools within the Staten Island community. Today, we highlight how St. Charles School utilized their Nicotra Foundation LOVEducation grant.

St. Charles School started their garden to grow peppers, basil, eggplants, and other fresh produce. When the Nicotras heard that their greenhouse had collapsed under the heavy snow this past winter, they covered the repairs in addition to the LOVEducation grant. Before the new school year began, Parishioner Marybeth McCarthy worked alongside student Leah to w**d, tend, and harvest, helping prepare the flourishing garden to welcome students back.

The Nicotra Foundation thanks each organization for making a DIFFERENCE in the community we LOVE. Helping our community GROW is another reason to LOVE Staten Island. ❤️

❤️ We LOVE to explore new ART with the Staten Island Community ❤️

The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation supports our home Borough through grants to nonprofit groups, organizations, and schools within the Staten Island community. Today, we highlight how P.S. 3 utilized their Nicotra Foundation grant.

P.S. 3 students explored the art of cyanotype, creating beautiful sun-powered prints of their handprints while learning about a unique photographic process.

The Nicotra Foundation thanks each organization for making a DIFFERENCE in the community we LOVE. Creative learning opportunities for our students are another reason to LOVE Staten Island. ❤️

Yesterday, thousands of community members showed up to the ballpark in a big way for I ❤️ Staten Island Day.

SIEDC served as a proud presenting sponsor of the game alongside our partners at Northwell Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island FerryHawks, Staten Island Advance, and the Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation. Together, we celebrated all that makes our borough such a great place to live, work, and thrive.

Shoutout to SIEDC members who came out to showcase their organizations at the stadium, including Bridge Prep, Camelot, College of Staten Island, Comserv Connect, David & Co. Menswear, Municipal Credit Union, NorthPoint Development, and SERVPRO.
