"Hi, I’m Sam. I’m 30 years old and was diagnosed with Chiari and syringomyelia when I was 28. Like many people who are diagnosed, I suddenly found myself trying to understand conditions I had never really heard of before and figure out what they meant for my life.

When I was diagnosed, I remember feeling overwhelmed and wishing I had more information, more resources, and someone who could help me understand what I was facing. There were so many questions and so much uncertainty, and I didn’t always know where to look for answers or support.

That experience is a big part of why I wanted to do this. I want to help other people who are diagnosed with Chiari or syringomyelia feel a little less alone and hopefully have access to the information, resources, support, and research that I wish I had when I was first diagnosed.

I wanted to bring something like this to our local community while also making it something people could genuinely have fun doing. That’s why I chose Topgolf—a chance to get together, have a good time, raise awareness, and raise money for a cause that means so much to me.

If even one person learns about Chiari or syringomyelia through this event, finds a resource they didn’t know existed, or realizes they aren’t alone, then it will be worth it to me.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this event, and I hope we can continue growing it and making a difference together. ❤️"
