436th Family Readiness

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and/or supported us in anyway so far!! Just a note - the program is going to the copy center on Monday. I will not be able to add anything I don’t have in hand by the weekend into the program. I know multiple people have mentioned baskets but I really do need to have them in hand to include them into the program so I know where to put them.

The toys have made it to Fort Wadsworth and are set up beautifully for socially distant pick up. We very much hope to be able to celebrate our heroes "normally" next year but until then we're so happy to still be able to help make the holidays merry.

As with everything else in 2020, our normal holiday celebration had to be canceled this year. But that didn't stop us from making the holidays great for our military families. The first batch of toys are on thier way to the base. Santa's elves will be handing them out soon. Pictures to follow. A special thank you to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Rolling Thunder SI NY, and those on here for their donations. Thank you to Emily from Port Richmond High School and Alexa, Miss Teen New York Coronet 2021 for collecting, sorting and packing ALL the gifts. And, thank you to Vinnie Medugno and the students of Port Richmond High School for the great letters to our service men and woman. What a great and much appreciated extra the letters were! Thank you so much to all who have donated!!! The response has been amazing! The 436th seems to have 2 angels names Annmarie and Regina. We don't know who they are but we know we couldn't do this without them and we are so grateful.

This year, more than ever, we need help bringing the holiday spirit to our local soldiers and their families. It's been a tough year for all. Please help us make the holidays special for our heroes and their families. We are collecting gift cards and toys until 12/15/20. All donations are greatly appreciated!

On this day of giving we ask that you please consider giving to families of our local heroes, our soldiers from Fort Wadsworth.
We will not be collecting for our "Buy A Soldier Dinner" fundraiser this year, as we can not have large events. We hope to make our soldiers day special with gifts and treats in thier homes.

We're sad to announce that we will not be able to have our annual holiday party for our soldiers this year due to the pandemic . We are grateful to everyone who has donated to our Buy a Soldier Dinner fundraiser in the past and are asking that if you are able to this year, please help us provide gift cards for our heroes to use on their children this holiday instead. So many people are in need right now. We hope to be able help children of all of soldiers in Fort Wadsworth. Gift Cards sent from Amazon will come directly to us. We are also adding some toys from wish lists we have recieved if you prefer toys. Please message us for local drop off or mail location if you prefer. Help us help a hero! We are grateful for any items provided and wish you and yours a happy holiday!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Veteran's Day dinner and raffles. Even during these crazy times so many people came out to support us. We are grateful. And congratulations to our winners!!!
