The waterfront promenade between Tompkinsville and Rosebank has been falling into the water for decades. Even the destruction brought on by Hurricane Sandy hasn't prompted immediate remediation.

Now there's a sinkhole outside Bay Street Landing, a closed off pier and the stairwell next to the Tompkinsville SIR station has started crumbling as well.

The is planning to fix up the entire promenade but the timeline is unknown and the need is now.

Join me outside 90 Bay St Landing on the 23rd to call out the waterfront for what it really is, the and demand what we need: a functioning waterfront!

Hey all!

Fun opportunity alert!

This weekend we'll be leading an easy bike ride through downtown Brooklyn to explore and survey a range of open streets. The information we collect will go towards an updated report TA is putting together on the state of NYC's Open Streets Program

A limited number of bicycles will be available on request to those who need!

Beryl announced on Tuesday that they were terminating their bike share contract with the DOT, leaving Staten Island stranded. It’s been over one year since the end of the pilot program that brought bike share to the North Shore and eight years since Citi Bike was introduced to the other boroughs and now New Jersey. Still, Staten Island remains left behind.

Enough is enough. Staten Island must not be forgotten. Join me as we call on Mayor de Blasio to bring quality bike-share service to Staten Island!

New, new Commissioner alert!

It's great to see Commissioner Gutman come in with a strong focus on micro-mobility from Day 1. Here's to hoping for a strong year of street transformation!

Gutman, a retired attorney who spent much of his career specializing in intellectual property law, will replace acting Commissioner Margaret Forgione, who will serve as the agency’s first deputy commissioner.

For those of you keeping track of this week's tremendous and wins:

-The Brooklyn Bridge and Queensboro Bridge are each getting a lane of car traffic removed to expand space for cyclists and pedestrians

-Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a for each borough (psst BdB, that's 👉5 boroughs👈, not 4!)

-Mayor de Blasio announced that Open Streets would not only be made permanent this year, but the program will expand, especially in undeserved communities

-The DOT made changes to allow "Idaho stops" at T- intersections

-A bill to expand street vendor permits was passed by the city council

In the words of our TA Communications Director, TOO MUCH NEWS!! 🎉🎉🎉

This is why we need Governor Andrew Cuomo to step in. If the Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA would rather spend millions to bury the voice of the people, it's up to Gov Cuomo to hold the MTA accountable!

The MTA rejected several proposals for an affordable bike and pedestrian path on the Verrazzano Bridge — and we go deep to show why.

What this article doesn't mention is that according to the same Sienna poll, 48% of Staten Islanders report that they've been injured in a traffic crash... nearly half

And the percentage is highest among our lowest earners.

Street safety is a matter of public safety and it's a matter of equity. Street safety matters

A new poll of over 800 New Yorkers suggests that at least 30% of respondents in the five boroughs have either been injured in a traffic-related crash, while
